Seeing Voice Actors.

Last night Raphael Sbarge (voice actor of Carth Onasi and Kaidan Alenko) was on Burn Notice. It was weird seeing the face of the actor whose voice I heard so much prior. I really didn't expect him to look like that. Though I may have associated his voice with Carth's face too much. There are a few others like Phil LaMar, Billy West, and John DiMaggio.

How do you guys react when you see what voice actors?

I also saw Tony Jay(eldar god), Micheal Bell(Raziel) and Simon Templemen(Kain) in the Legacy of Kain blooper vids.

I pictured... what's her face that plays female Shepard? Hale? Well, I pictured her way different.

Was a bit of a shock.

I kinda like seeing the people who voice my favourite characters.

When I first saw Billy West and John DiMaggio, it was weird. It wasn't really bad, but it wasn't good either, but at the time I didn't like it. Now it's not so bad, and I like to see the face behind the character. Actors who provide voice overs, as opposed to voice actors, I can deal with as the character they are voicing usually resembles them in some way.

Now it's not so bad, and I like to see the face behind the character. I guess it does make it a bit more weird when they use their actual voice for the characters you remember. Fry from Furturama is a "23-year-old me" as Billy West describes it, and Bender is just John DiMaggio talking into a mic with a higher pitched voice.

Steve Blum looks nothing like I imagined him, same with Spiker Spencer (the guy who does the VO for Shinji in Evangelion).

I expected him to look alot older, i was kinda shocked.

But still, he is awesome, and does the most epic voice of all time. Imagine being his kid, and him telling to go to your room in an Optimus Prime voice XD

I remember searching for the voice of Diana from Hitman. I never imagined she would be so uh, well, old. I always imagined her as someone like Jennifer Hale.

Kevin Conroy was a big surprise for me. Its unfortunate because by the time he started Batman TAS he would have looked too old to play it live action, but back in the 70s he would have made an awesome live action batman.

This guy does the voice of Marcus Fenix. I was shocked.

He doesn't look like

The voice actor for the apprentice in The Force Unleashed looks great! Probably because the character was modeled after him. XD

When I can see the voice actor doing the voice, it sounds different to me. It's weird, but it just doesn't actually sound like the character.

The only exception is Charles Martinet. When I saw him do the Mario voice on Nintendo week, it sounded perfect!

I remember when I saw the guy who voiced the cockney voice of the Boss from Saint's Row 2. that was an odd experience...

but in general i don't really get freaked out. i get more freaked out when i see someone a lot THEN hear their voice in an animation or video game. that's what gets me...

I must say, my mind was just a bit blown when they found what has to be the exact voice double for Michael J, Fox for the Back to the Future games.


I mean, his voice box must be exactly like Michael's at a SUBATOMIC level. Seriously.

It's funny because John Dimaggio looks exactly how I pictured him.
He also does the voice of Bender.

Playing ME2 I knew the voice actor for Miranda after seeing her in "Chuck" as well as her co-star in the series playing the Quarian guy.
I also picked up Victoria in fallout New Vegas, was curious who did the voice, looked up Felecia Day, found the guild and laughed very hard. I also remember seeing her in Dollhouse.

I've had a soft spot for Gary Cole ever since I found out he was the voice of Harvey Birdman.

Gary Cole? The guy who played Lumbergh in Office Space?
