Given that you described RPGs in general as "nothing but XP grinding and min-maxing," I was actually under the assumption that
you were a troll. There are few things in life more satisfying than confusing a troll.
But since you ask, no. There is absolutely no point to grinding if the only result is the player getting bored out of their mind. If you really must grind (which, unless you've been deliberately avoiding fights, should be far from necessary), that's why you either pick a place where you can get a lot of experience quickly, or you do sidequests or exploration for a while. The only time I recall ever actually
needing to grind levels was for an optional one-on-one battle involving the weakest member of my party and an extremely tough opponent (and that fight is more luck-based than anything).
Also, I think you got your stereotypes mixed up. Min-maxing is supposed to be a WRPG and tabletop gaming problem.
