I tend to avoid "Gaming Discussion" for some reason.

Funny, seeming as this is a gaming website.

I think you just summed up most of the veterans.

I'm like you Lennon, but I occasionally wander into the gaming section and keep my eye on the review section. I'm currently writing a new review, but I'm not sure whether to whack it up on the forum or try my luck with the guest reviewer spot.

Anyhow, when I started I was all over the place, until I gravitated toward the OT section. I think as you become more involved in the community you want to socialise with your fellow members, and the OT section has the greater scope for doing that.

Same. For both.

By the way, is 'User Reviews' a part of 'Gaming Discussion'? Just wondering.

I usually wander between Off Topic and Gaming.
I'd love to start RPing again, but I'm too shy to ask admission into the existing RPs, and I'm too afraid to make my own.
God, I'm so spineless sometimes.

Am I a veteran? I've been here for a while now and I should be Gonzo soon

and I didn't cheat for my post number (looking at you Sparten Bannana & Iron Ninja!)

I spend a lot of time in the RP section, when I'm not there I post in the Off Topic section and occasionally in the game section, but mostly, I only lurk there

No, you didn't start posting till a couple of months after you joined, and how are we cheating, the occasional double post is acceptable, of course I do it more often than not but still.
Also, I find it a little funny that I've only been here since the tail end of April, but have a higher post count than people who joined in March and February.

I first started in the Gameing Discussion, obviously.

But then, I started exploring around the forums and discovered the News Room, then the Off Topic Discussion, then Forum Games, then the User Reviews, and some other stuff.

Now I do Gaming Discussion, Off Topic, Forum Games, and the News Room. Though I'm horrible at RP threads and I want to get involved in those more.

I think you're only a "true" veteran until you start posting in the Off Topic Discussion board more often. I havn't seem many "veterans" post to much on the Gaming Discussion or the News Room except for putting in their 2 cents or posting in something that turns into something that would be in an Off Topic Discussion (IE Girl Gamer's Opinion threads and such)

What he's trying to say is that people who tend to use the Forum Games and RP section tend to have a higher post count.

For example, thebobmaster barely ever leaves the RP section, and I have reason to believe that he has a post count of 6000+.

I think its that after a while here you've seen every gaming thread already.

Hence, you migrate down one, to the Off-Topic. After getting over the impulse to argue and not taking things seriously...

You end up in RP, where you can take 'not taking yourself seriously' to an art-form.

Its a natural cycle

That is so true on so many levels.

My only regret with these forums is that since I don't/didn't spend to much time in the Off Topic and RP threads, I don't have these sortof "inside jokes" with people. Like PurpleRain and his orphans.

*sigh* I miss out on everything.

Don't worry, you're not the only one.

However, I am getting a lot more knowledgeable of the community, such as GEMS, MGG and The Negotiator, the fables of Haliwali, and of course...

The Clock Tower Sandwich and Surrealonomy (It will be accepted science, just you wait!).
