Like this is different from what any other studio pushes. This is just different because it is tennis and not street racing or some other game.
And Serena Williams can crack walnuts with that butt. And that I have no problem with.
I was more weirded out by whatsher(?)face the so-called "sexiest tennis gamer."

So to compensate for your lack of innovation, you make an advertisement featuring two women in scantily clad clothing swinging around a stick with a glowing ball on it? What the hell 2K? This is just down right immature...and the sad part is that it probably would have worked if they had any idea what the term sexy means.
Well if it worked for Nuke Nukem Forever...

I always see Serena Williams as the epitome of manliness is tennis, so this....frightens me.
^^ Yeah the Williams girls never struck my as "sexy".. wasn't there some Swedish and Asian hotties a few years back that would be far more appropriate for this?

Bwa-ha-ha-ha-ha!

...Heh. The game is rated 'E'. The marketing campaign, on the other hand...

Ah, sure, Serena Williams is a good-looking woman. But they think this is going to make me buy a tennis game? Seriously? What, they think I'll get it hoping to zoom in on the polygonal model of Williams? If something like Dead or Alive couldn't sell me on that basis, what chance does Top Spin 4 have?

I guess they can pat themselves on the back that between being offended and being amused being amused seems to have won, but I'm definitely laughing at them, not with them.

I like T&A as much as the next person, but this is too far.

Can we as a gaming community try and pull ourselves away from the "All gamers are men who can never get women and will only play games with tits and asses in them" stereotype? It's pissing me off how often this shows up. It's gotta be more than 90% of games.

it was actually the 2 or 3 clips of the actual game inbetween the well what ever that was that got me interested in the game perhaps they would have been better releasing a gameplay video with a couple of hot gamers in normal skimpy clothes to show off the move capability rather than ... that .....

Pretty ridiculous, though I have to say I enjoy the eye candy. Still not a good day for video game marketing though...

I know you're not responsible for leading the industry's charge to legitimacy and maybe it's all tongue-in-cheek and sure, nobody gets stabbed or shot or blown up, but come on! This is not helping!
I'm not sure "Tongue-in-cheek" is the appropriate choice of phrase for this discussion, hahah!

lol at the update.

I'm disgusted; as a gamer, a female, and person who understands the definition of sexy. Then again it is a tennis game, so I guess I can't fault them for the desperate advertisment, nobody would have noticed otherwise.

That was surprisingly lame. They're really pushing the PS Move, aren't they.

And frankly, if I want to see a hot tennis player, I don't want to see them in leather. I want to see them in a frilly short skirt and spandex booty short. Not only was this offensive and stupid, it was a missed opportunity to properly showcase the booties of two very beautiful women.

2K, I am very disappoint.

[sub]Asses, asses everywhere! I'm kinda of an ass man I guess >.>[/sub]

Good to see that 2K says it wasn't by them, at least that'll convince some people that it was the marketers not devs.

This is hardly a sign of mature marketting. I mean why on Earth would you use gratuitous T&A shots to sell a game about playing tennis?
I mean for one thing, it is shamefully objectifying women. For another thing it doesn't really help make the target audience seem mature and of course, number three it has nothing to do with the actual game itself.
There aren't going to be spandex wearing lasses showing off their lumps and rumps in the middle of a game that looks like a standard tennis match, so how desperate do you need to be to make an ad like this?

It's sexist, immature and has nothing to do with the product it's selling... so yeah, it's really not helping.

I'll be honest. I got to the 27 second mark and turned it off. I feel uncomfortable watching that.
Yup, this is exactly what happened with me too (albeit I'm sure it wasn't exactly 27 seconds... but it sure didn't take long for me to stop watching)

I'm pretty sure if someone wants to stop watching something before it finishes, you have FAILED. Even more so as they were heading for a sexy appeal which will usually draw most guys in no matter what for the whole thing, this simply made me feel... meh and ugh simultaneously. As someone else said, perhaps they should have looked up what sexy actually is.

The racism of you people never ceases to astound me.

Serena Williams is the sexiest tennis star on the face of the planet.

Just because she not some 95 lb bean pole white girl she has to be "manly" or "ugly"?

Grow up guys.
I don't get how not being attracted to someone makes them a racist. The comments are specifically saying that Serena is ugly, not black women are ugly.

These people are ugly! Dressing like a prostitute does not = beauty!
I'm reading my own post in Vega's voice from SF4! Why does that always happen when I use the word "Beautiful"?!
OT: This is not good advertising! Calling ugly people sexy and making them play your game with suggestive sounds is not going to sell many people your game. Well, still not as bad as EA has gotten before, so...

What?

What the hell?

Alright, unauthorized distribution? What? 2K, come on? Serena Williams decided to casually show her ass in an unauthorized commercial?

It's your commercial you can at least admit it. Even if it wasn't supposed to be distributed, you still fucking made it.

Also, I'm still looking forward to buying Top Spin 4 some time down the line, because I actually like tennis. And not for the constant groans and moans and stuff.
