I couldn't get through 5 minutes of the Cleveland Show. He's cornered the market on the loser stoner demographic.

So the modern master of overrated, unfunny animated shows gets a crack at the ORIGINAL overrated, unfunny animated show.

Makes perfect sense.
It does, actually. In fact, I think this is the best place for him. Flintstones was garbage in its original incarnation, never thought I'd say this but he's actually in an ideal position to do good. At the very least I can't see him being worse than the original.

Only really like American Dad of the shows Seth did, so ain't thrilled about the news.

As long as he keeps it light on the toilet humor... FFs how long can people find the same jokes funny for?
Also 50% less pop culture references while we are at it.

At the end of the day the 'Flinstones' is going to turn into another reskinning of family guy. It's pretty much the same dynamic, I wouldn't be surprised if the new Dino talks. Wouldn't be surprise at all.

I'm actually in favour of this. If he can make it more in line with the comedy of the Cleveland Show and American Dad, then it should be good. Since when he's not doing bizarre cut-away-gag-humour, the guy and his writers are actually fucking hilarious. Watch any episode of American Dad for evidence of this.

But I swear, if I hear the words "Wilma, this is worse than the time I", or any variation thereof, I am changing the fucking channel immediately.

I have absolutely no faith in this newest endeavor of his. Family Guy stopped being funny a while back with their Star Wars episodes being the only decent releases in the last little while. I've really tried to get in to American Dad and the Cleveland Show but I just can't.

Man, I miss the days of tuning in on Sundays and finding funny episodes of both Family Guy and The Simpsons. Now, they've both lost steam and, in my opinion, should be quietly sent to the elephant graveyard.

Maybe I remain an optimist, but I mean seriously whats your adult animation alternative. Simpsons went down hill far worst then Family Guy and American Dad. South Park is still good, but not as good as it used to be, and everything on adult swim is like South Park only a slight lower quality and more crude *in both a positive and negative way* with the exception of Robot Chicken.

i love family guy and american dad. I'd rather see another sketch cartoon outside the franchises. Like the one he did before..what was it called again? it was great

I'd expected a "guhhh i hope this is as good as Family Guy" from you, as the OP, but this made me smile.

I sure can't wait for spotty teens to quote The Flintstones in the playground (or wherever they "hang").

You know, I like Family Guy, and I like American Dad even more (Cleveland Show is shit though). This could work, it depends.
I'm with this guy. So I'll give him the benefit of the doubt with this one. I won't be looking forward to it, but I'll keep an eye out and check it out when I get the chance.
Of course, either the show will change a fair bit, or the style of humour may take a hit, but we'll see what happens. I agree with Puzzlenaut, it's gotta be better than The Cleveland show.

Whats up with MacFarlane and Flintstones? The man has had at least 3 Flintstones jokes/gags in almost every season of family guy. And worse is that they are all bad, ugh "erocktion."

I find it funny how so many people complain how he isn't funny anymore and yet he's the single highest paid television writer ever.

Just like American Dad and the Cleveland show. He could at least do a show without a family with an overweight dad, his inexplicably hotter wife and a baby with an intellect of an adult...

HOLY CRAP I am sooo glad i'm not the only one in the world who hated the flintstones. Anyway, it'll go as his other show do, they'll get rerun so much people will be forced to like them. Then they'll take timeslots away from shows I enjoy. Seriously, family guy killed Rocket Robinhood reruns, then Futurama for a while and American Dad killed Frisky Dingo and Saul of the Molemen. (I watch Teletoon btw, its sadly the best channel to watch comedy shows on.)
