Sexist gaming moments (that's sexist not sexiest)

According to a recent poll on GAMEFAQS there are at least 6000 gamers who don't find games sexist in any way. Is anyone game enough to enlighten those gamers and detail some sexist moments they have come across in games?

Or maybe you're one of the at least 6000 who aren't detecting it? (I know it's not a very manly thing to admit a game might be sexist and perhaps most guys under a certain age aren't even aware of how subtle sexism can be).

I recently noticed it subtly in Halo ODST and blatantly in the script for Halo Wars. There's also questionable stuff like Conan (but that's kind of intentional) and I guess Ms Pac-man wearing bow in her hair could be considered sexist. Where do you draw the line?

In Gothic, there were only 3 or 4 women and they were all slaves dancing, cleaning. You couldn't even talk to them, they said ''Shhh. Your not allowed to talk to us!'' And there was even supposed to be a nude chick.

Your examples pale in comparison to Cultures 2.
An RTS with elements blatantly ripped off from the Sims series, instead of units you have individual people who can do many jobs. You change their jobs, make sure everyone has food and shelter, etc.
Male units can be extractors, bakers, soldiers, fishermen, hunters, blacksmiths. Basically anything.
Women? They can marry a man and keep the house for him. They cannot do any other job.
That's it. Also, if they are married, then there are two buttons which are "Have a Boy" and "Have a Girl" which is the way in which new people are created.

Probably a good thing this passed under the radar.

Being female I feel that I should be outraged by every sexist thing in gaming.

...I'm not.

Okay, why do we female always end up as the sidekick? The majority of games have a female sidekick, where's the male sidekick to the female lead?
Honestly, it doesn't really bother me.

Women are NOT an item gaming wise, i.e. games where you marry, etc. Or at least, they shouldn't be.
But hey, men what do you think of us as? Other than pleasure objects? ;)
(note my sarcasm)

What is offensively sexist these days really? Most gamers seem to think that breasts make a game offensive but are most women really offended by breasts? That would make certain practicalities in their lives sort of hard to manage.

I can see that as being offensive. It perpetuates the myth that historically women didn't do anything "useful" other than keep house and have children.

I like my games to stay games(==fun)....

...so i don't give a fuck about sexism in games or movies.

Why i don't give a fuck? Because i can distinct reality and fantasy...Also pixels don't qualify as women for me...

...i could also say the Care Bears look to colorful or elves should't have pointy ears cause they mock vulcanians...its fantasy...yeah and some fantasies are quite sexist and will ever be...

basically what id put it down to is say atleast 90% of gamers are male, the games are going to be targeted more towards men hence they'll have the buff good looking hero guy for you and a spunky, dangerous yet sensual female to accompany you, it just makes more sense marketing wise

One time in AOC a year and a bit ago, this female toon was camping me in the white sands (which is campville for low lvl players) and wouldn't let me be. So basically I said something along the lines of, "fuck off and get your life back on track you lonely middle aged virgin" and further ridiculed them about rolling a female character (at this point I assumed that it was a guy pwning me). Lo and behold, she replies ,"oh so your a sexist pig?" Yah, made me feel kind of bad; but then again, she was being a major *****... Camping in that game was a major problem though; you couldn't go through a region without there being one high level guy(or woman, as I found out on this occasion) spawn camping your ass for no reason... And when you complained they came out with the lamest fucking calls... "reroll rp nub" every fucking time... This one guy even said that after killing me and I didn't even say anything to provoke him. But yeah [/rant], that's my sexist moment (you could call it sexist yeah?), which unfortunately held me as the antagonist.

I repeat, honestly, it doesn't bother me.
The strange thing is when you have games with strong female leads (Wet is going to be the most up-to-date reference, but I guess all you guys bought it just for the view :p )

What does annoy me is the whole MOST GAMERS ARE MALE.
WHY are the majority of gamers male?
The worst thing is when they make 'Girl Gamer' magazines that market stupid, badly designed games to the female population because they think we don't want to play a good FPS or RPG, we'd rather play something to do with dancing or cooking, right?
No. Just no.

Sorry but, maybe its a regional thing but out of 20 women i know better....2 are gaming....60% don't like gaming at all...and the rest doesn't give a crap---

...so yeah at the moment MOST GAMERS ARE MALE.

And i also really think its you girls not getting the point across to the males...

...i don't see magazines by female gamers for female gamers, i don't see you set up big gaming communities...i know no girl who has a dedicated server or is producing GOOD vids on their own platform (yeah i saw Rebecca's and little miss gamer and yes i still laugh at Movie Bob, Yatzhee and AVGN not at the girls...).

If you don't think most gamers are male...DO SOMETHING...and do it with some other GIRLS...

mfg, r0qu3

P.S.: And don't get it wrong i would appreciate girls sharing my hobby...cause its hard to maintain a relationship if your partner really hates your hobby...

Games need girls just like the gamers who play them. Though I think that answer cancelled itself out.....

Meh... if I had to say something, maybe... Populous: The Beginning? Where men are slaves and expendable pawns and women are gods.

But then again, I really don't care about this kind of thing, because even if I am offended it doesn't particularly matter. Plus, it was an awesome game.

It's hard to be a female gamer and get noticed- I accept that it's a male dominated interest, but hey, whatever.
I enjoy playing CoD online and being better than all the boys sitting swearing into their headsets, but the sad truth is the majority of women do prefer shopping to sitting down for the evening with a nice game and 20 cans of coke to get you through the night. I have very few friends who're female gamers, the majority of my friends are male, due to this.

The thing that annoys me is when people assume female gamers aren't as good as males.
Doing something? I can't be bothered, because as I've said three times now, I DON'T CARE. I'm happy to be a female gamer who sinks into obscurity among the masses of men.

Surprisingly, it's hard for the female gamers too get boyfriends too, especially if you're competitive- it's a horrifying moment when you realize that the only reason your boyfriend respects you is because you beat him at Guitar Hero.
