Shadow of the Colossus to be Re-Released?

Yes! I've been wanting to get this game for ages but I don't think I can last much longer. D:
I might just search for an old copy of the game. Still the news sounds awesome.

It's sad how masterpieces like this which are unique and brilliant sell like crap, and reskinned, four hour, derivative shooters outsell them both put together on the first day. Damn I swear multiplayer is ruining gaming. At least they're not being put off by this.

Only for the PS2? I'm afraid my Slim won't be able to play it, and I've never actually played Ico or SotC... so a blu-ray remake would be way better actually!

But you know what would be even better, Sony? Learn from your God of War division and give us a HD-remastered compilation of Ico and SotC on Blu-Ray. I'd pick that up in a heartbeat, no joke.

Sorry to be the spoiling dude, but Ico underperformed hilariously, as you already mentioned. (And in my opinion it wasn't that great of a game, only a pretentious one)

And while Shadow of the Colossus came close to the magical million mark, it is still far short of the 3.2 and 2.5 million that the first and second God of War sold respectively. Considering the signicantly more limited Playstation 3 userbase and the fact that the God of War Collection has sold less than 400k in the duration of about one month, how much does a compilation of Ico and Shadow of the Colossus can sell? Very little, I would guess. Perhaps not enough to cover the HD-transformation costs.

What the hells the point? Put it out on PS3 with Ico or something, that'll give you more promotion.

Considering i already own editions of ICO and SOTC a re-release on the ps2 doesnt interest me... unless they brought them out even as a digital download on to the ps3, at least then i could finally get rid of my ps2.

A HD update would be nice... but Team Ico are too small a developer to expend energy on such an upgrade while they are still aiming for a 2010 release of the last gaurdian. Unless some other group takes control of it. I would love to see SOTC with smoother framrate and crisper resolution but i won't expect it. As people already mentioned SoTC never got the sales of other such titles that have had HD updates.

Still, fingers crossed.

Apparently it's only $18 at Gamestop. I don't know how much ebay is offering (don't trust it myself), but $18 isn't a bad price for a cult classic.

If they re-release Sotc in HD, I will finally have run out of excuses to avoid buying a PS3. I have both Sotc and Ico for the PS2 but Sotc in HD would look spectacular.
