Well everyone knows Cloverfield was just an elaborate commercial for the GREATEST CAMERA EVER!WanderFreak said:When it's used appropriately, like in Saving Private Ryan, where it's purpose is to add to the chaos on screen then I like it. But when it becomes the chaos, then no. Cloverfield being a prime example. I have never in my life met someone who shakes the camera that much. Footage taken by people running from the collapsing WTC towers is steadier. Diary of the Dead did it much better, it was there but not noticeable.
Incorrect. It did an alright job with Cloverfield. Now, Cloverfield was a pretty good movie on its own merits and the camera thing was actually pretty cool but after awhile it got sooooo annoying!Sable Gear said:Depends on what sort of feel it gives/how it's used.
For horror films, I'd say ok, not great, depends on the film.
For action films...I'd say no.
In games, definitely no.
For the record, it worked well in Cloverfield as well, but again, that was an atmosphere thing. It all depends so there really isn't any definite answer.
