...I guess you mean like in movies ? or games >.> ?
If so I like quite artistic shots in movies :) And first person cameras in game, makes you feel more involved :D

Depends on what sort of feel it gives/how it's used.

For horror films, I'd say ok, not great, depends on the film.
For action films...I'd say no.
In games, definitely no.

For the record, it worked well in Cloverfield as well, but again, that was an atmosphere thing. It all depends so there really isn't any definite answer.

Since the introduction of the shaky action cam, I have never really been able to figure out what the hell is going on in movies.

Then later when I piece all the minor actions I got together and recreate the scene in my mind to get a grip on what actually took place, I never feel quite impressed by what happened.
It's a cheap trick to make minor action scenes look slightly more impressive by trying to confuse the viewer.

I like how they filmed the Bourne trilogy..not just a bunch of action shots filmed while on a cart moving along a track.

but for TBW and Cloverfield..not so much, however when they parodied it in one of those Scary Movies..it was funny.

It's good to put the audience in the fight scene, make us get slapped about in the action, but sometimes they push it to the extreme. Well, Bourne movies they had it pretty right, but had it FOR EVERY SHOT! Talking scenes don't count as action. Plus, rapid fire editing also ruins it. The shakiness is enough, but it makes it dizzying to through the audience around as well with bad editing.

Transformers 1 and 2 pushed it a little, but it wasn't as bad as the second and third Bourne movies were. However, the recent Hulk movie seemlessly ripped off the Transformers movie and absolutly ruined it.

Yeah, it's really annoying. It only works in a few cases, and it really subtracts from the sheer power of a good action movie. How can you enjoy something if you can't see what's going on?

When it's used appropriately, like in Saving Private Ryan, where it's purpose is to add to the chaos on screen then I like it. But when it becomes the chaos, then no. Cloverfield being a prime example. I have never in my life met someone who shakes the camera that much. Footage taken by people running from the collapsing WTC towers is steadier. Diary of the Dead did it much better, it was there but not noticeable.
Well everyone knows Cloverfield was just an elaborate commercial for the GREATEST CAMERA EVER!

Through the whole movie it is dropped, clawed at, shot at, chewed in the mouth of a gigantic monster then procedes to fall to the ground from hundreds of feet up, and the footage it recorded remains intact despite having BOMBS DROPPED ON IT.

And the worst that happens to it?
It gets dirt on it. ONCE!!!

Damn, what I would pay for a video cam that durable...

Ever seen Quantom of Solice?

I've never seen it used in a good way and it only makes me unable to tell what's happening.

Ugh, the new Transformers took this to a whole new level by spinning the camera around a character EVERY FIVE MINUTES

I had to take some asprin afterwards to help with my headache.

Incorrect. It did an alright job with Cloverfield. Now, Cloverfield was a pretty good movie on its own merits and the camera thing was actually pretty cool but after awhile it got sooooo annoying!

Shaky Cam, wasn't that what they used for Evil Dead? The Deadytes' point of view, "floating" through the forest (in reality they just had two guys carry a board with the camera mounted on it)? In that case: It's awesome.

I didn't notice it Transformers 2.

I enjoy a shaky cam when used in moderation, too much (like Cloverfield) is just annoying.

Cinéma vérité is the style used to make a movie look like a doctumentry/hand-held style such as The Blair Witch Project and Cloverfield.

I saw Cloverfield and it gave me a head ache. I'm not a huge fan of the style but if done right, it can be very effective with mood setting etc.

The shaky cam in The Bourne series was over done in a few places like in a scene, I can remember what movie, they are eating at a diner and it was very annoying.
