That pie quest was the straw that broke my poor hobbit's back around a year ago when I was playing....could not take them, anymore (the whole farm-polymorphing quest was bizarre yet interesting, tho).

Keep it up! The travelogues of Lulzy are awesome!

You know, I detest the mail and pie quests (being someone with a hot temper, easily frustrated, clearly not the type who should role-play a hobbit), and I'd hoped never to do them again. However, I've just gotten my mom playing, and we're hobbits, and I think I'm going to enjoy taking it easy around the Shire. Either way, I, too, am really glad that they had hobbit-type quests like party planning and pie delivery instead of just combat, combat, combat (or wombat, wombat, wombat--that wouldn't have worked at all).
Also, one of my all-time favorite game elements is the no-pants sad panda. For anyone who has not yet sampled the various kegs available, the Inn League Keg is a slight step more evil than the Sinister Keg, the names of which imply hilarious things (to me) about the nature of the Inn League. Stop by my house at 6 Fairwood Lane, Ornen, Windfola (I'm Indriel) for a taste; just go in the front door and into the small room on the left. Or just feel free to warm yourself by any of the fireplaces!

I legitimately laughed out loud when I scrolled down and saw the picture of Lulzy being chased by a giant bear....hilarious.

"Suffering is the main ingredient." Pure gold! Definitely not up to par with the risk vs. reward system were the price for failure is your sanity. I'd say...50s, a pie recipe that you couldn't just go into town and buy, or heaven forbid, actually intuit on your own (oh the filling goes in the pie crust! I never would have guessed from the word filling) and +3 determination for delivery and +5 to patience for retrieval would be sufficient.

Bravo Shamus. Another great article all around.

If I had to count the number of people whom I've linked to this series, I would have to take my socks off and use both my fingers and toes! Keep up the fantastic work.

Honestly, bizarro-world quests aside, I think I'd spend most of my time laughing at the unfortunate names! Barmy Rootknot?! Sounds like an STD XD

I seriously need to check out this game. It's just odd enough to grab my attention. I used to be a Neosteam nut, but the game crowd shifted in a not-so-fun manner and I stopped playing.

Thank you again for laugh-out-loud moments in gaming!

Another highly enjoyable entry, Shamus. Unsurprisingly, there's a Lulzy, minstrel hobbit, on every server now... so no-one has any real way of guessing which one is the real one, heheh.

Since I love the game itself very much, and encourage all thsoe even mildly interested to at least check it out, I'd like to add an aside, for those curious... In the normal flow of the game, the mail and pie chains aren't quite so infuriating, heheh... you do the shire area by area, and in each area, you do a pie, and a mail route betweent her and the next place you're going... all works out quite well.

But you're right, of course... the suffering makes it taste so much sweeter.

Lol, if I ever play LOTRO (& I would if it was free-to-play), I will NEVER do that pie quest. Never!

All the people on this site who aren't reading about Lulzy's misadventures have no idea what they're missing out on.
