"You didn't put me in an uncomfortable situation. Well, you did.. but that's not what I was talking about. Richard is my mothers boss. So that call was important." Lyla sighed, rubbing the bridge of her nose with her fingers.

"I know that they don't spend time with me because they're always on business trip, or talking to someone their phone about work, but I also know that they're the reason I can go to college and not have to worry about paying bills or anything else. So they need to talk to their boss' and go on business trips and... Let's just get going.."

Micah grabbed Jenna a bottle of water from the refrigerator, and grabbed himself a Dr. Pepper. He went and sat down next to her on the couch, handing her her water, and places his can of soda on the side-table. Sable walked across the couch, over to Micah, and snuggled herself underneath his arm for a warm place to sleep.

"So yeah... This is my place." Micah said to Jenna. "You're welcome to look around... make yourself at home."

Josh saw that there was no point in pressing her at this time so he simply nodded and accepted what she said. He then subtley changed the subject, "So how about we get ahold of Micah and Jenna now; I'm sure that we could get to a movie now."

"I'm working on it," Jenna replied before opening the bottle and taking a few mouthfuls. The water was cold from being left untouched in the fridge, presumably for a few days at least, and a strange cold sensation spread through what felt like her lungs. For a moment she thought it had gone down the wrong way, but the feeling passed quickly.

With her free hand, Jenna tentatively reached out to touch Sable's fur, unsure whether the ferret would bite, or simply touch her fingers with her nose the way Kirsten did occasionally.

"Yeah.. That's probably a good idea." Lyla pulled out her phone, quickly writing a message to Jenna.

Hey, did you guys still wanna hang out?  Also.. I need to talk to you.

Lyla hit send and turned back around to face Josh.

Micah watched as Jenna pet Sable gently, the little weasel sniffing her hand and nuzzling gently on her finger.

"She's sweet, isn't she?" Magnus asked rhetorically. He heard a chirp come from Jenna's pants, and he planted a kiss on her cheek. "Your pants chirped."

"Yay, someone likes me," Jenna said as she pulled out her phone to read the message. It was from Lyla:

Hey, did you guys still wanna hang out? Also.. I need to talk to you.

Intriguing... Jenna figured she was the one who needed to talk to her, not the other way around.

Quickly turning the screen away from Micah so he couldn't read it, she said, "Lyla wants to know if we're still interested in the double date. I'm keen, what 'bout you?" She was careful not to mention the second half of the message, unsure what Lyla had in mind.

"Yeah, I'm still up for it. What time do they want to get there?" Micah asked, letting Jenna move around. She seemed to be focused on the text message, so Micah got up and went into his bedroom. "I'll be right back, Jen. I've got to check some stuff on the Internet. I'll be a few minutes."

Micah opened his laptop, and fired up his web browser, checking his Twitter, Facebook, and various webcomics and forums he visited.

"She didn't say, I'll find out now," Jenna called out as she typed a response:

Did you guys have a time in mind? I'm fine with any time soon.

She fired off the text and went back to stroking Sable's fur, the ferret twitching occasionally. Jenna wondered what Lyla could possibly want to talk to her about, especially if it was meant to be in private.

Lyla opened her phone and read the message, quickly writing her reply. "

We'll we're not doing anything right now.  Do you guys wanna meet up somewhere and have lunch or something?

"

She sent the message and walked to Josh's car. "I just sent Jenna a message.."

Ryan slowly rose in his hotel room. He didn't know what time it was. Hell, he wasn't even sure what day it was. His days had blurred together in the same kind of grind. Get up, get room service food, go to casino, get paid, get more food, sleep. His phone had been silent, he hadn't met up with anyone, it was getting a little depressing.

He yawned and moved over to the dresser, digging some clothes out. "Well another day, another dollar," he said to himself.

"Sounds good," Josh said as they left towards the meeting place, he decided that they would meet at the small cafe' he had eaten at when he stayed at his grandeparents, at least he knew that place from his few and far between visits. Before he left though he dropped a text to Ryan, "

There's gonna be a party my place tonight.  You down?

"

Jenna's phone chirped again, and she picked it up to read Lyla's reply:

We'll we're not doing anything right now.  Do you guys wanna meet up somewhere and have lunch or something?

She got up from the couch, headed into Micah's bedroom and found him tapping away on his laptop. "Um, might I interrupt?" she asked. "Lyla and Josh want to know if we want to meet up for lunch. You keen?"

While she waited for him to tear his eyes away from the screen, she started writing the second half of her answer, but didn't send it:

If you want to talk about something in private, I'm all ears. Besides, you're not the only one who needs to talk to someone.

The phone started vibrating on the table. "Huh? My cell phone bill due already?"

Ryan picked up a phone and saw the text on there. It wasn't from Micah's phone, so it must have been someone else. But who? He didn't remember giving it out to anyone else.

Two questions. Whos this and wheres the place at?

"Lunch?" Micah repeated Jenna's query. "Yeah sure, I don't mind. Where do they want to go?"

Micah looked up from his computer and back to Jenna, she was texting something back to Lyla. Micah turned back to his computer, and finished writing up a post on a forum.

"Hey Jen. I'm gonna put me down as 'In a relationship' with you on Facebook, kay?" Micah said to her.

"Um, sure, I guess," Jenna answered. As one of the rare teenagers who didn't use Facebook, Jenna had little knowledge of the social networking site, and less desire to find out about it. There was something about it that simply didn't appeal to her; maybe it was the need to constantly update it, or perhaps the fact that she preferred meeting up with her friends instead of talking to them over MSN.

She added the first half of her message to the text,

Whereabouts do you guys want to go?

and fired it off.

Lyla's phone vibrated in her pocket, making her jump slightly. She pulled it out, flipping it open and reading the text she received from Jenna.

I need to talk about relationship stuff.  What do you need to talk about?  And yeah, lets meet up at a cafe.

She hit send and returned the phone to her pocket.

Josh realized that Ryan didn't have his number, The curse of Facebook I suppose, he said to himself, before responding to Ryan,

Its Josh, and my place is on the rich district, I'll Facebook you the Google maps to it, tell everyone, but the group, I'll be doing that.

They arrived at the cafe and Josh got out and opened the door for Lyla, before they both went into the cafe.

Ah, cool man. Looking forward to it.

Ryan finished getting dressed and headed down to the hotel restaurant to grab some food. He had gotten to know what to order and what not to order from the place by now, a rarity for him. This was the most time he had spent in one place in a while. He ordered the Breakfast Club and some juice, then picked up the local paper. It was going to be nice to be able to break the routine tonight.

Jenna pulled out her phone again, read the latest text and raised her eyebrows slightly. That had been the exact same subject she had intended to talk to Lyla about. Hastily she tapped out,

Same as you. Which cafe?

and sent it off while waiting for Micah to finish with his laptop.
