Saved a 4-year-old from being flattened by a bus. Does that count?

No, In fact thats a felony.

Not much to tell, really. The kid was playing with a ballon, and the wind snatched it out of his hand and right into traffic; naturally the kid had to have his balloon back, so he chased after it. I was on the other side of the road, saw the bus coming and knew the driver would never be able to stop the vehicle in time, so I sprinted ahead into the road, picked the little guy up about a second before he was turned into gristle and sat him down next to his mom, whom I then proceeded to yell at for two minutes for chain-smoking and yammering away on her cellphone without paying a lick of attention to her son.

Well done sir! not many people can say they have saved a life. I like how you gave the woman who doesn't deserve the child she has a good shouting at.

Me? nothing much, I have saved the lives of many small creatures but that's about it. I even kept a couple of them as pets :3

I haven't done anything terribly heroic before, but that's because I have never been in a situation where heroism is necessary. I just try to do as many small things as possible, I let a short girl move in front of me at a concert as I am 6"2 and yesterday I brushed an ant of an old ladies back.... Where is my medal and parade people?

One time my wife asked me to squish a spider, but instead I took it outside and dumped it in the garden.

I like to think that one day, when the time comes, that spider or his descendant will return the favour.

Okay, well there are two things I consider to fit under that heading...

First was 2010, when I was finishing year 13 (I'm in NZ, and while I wasn't a prefect or anything, I was on the school board of trustees), and I was walking from economics across the sports field to the buses. After a while, I'm joined by this year 7 kid...nice guy, friendly and well-meaning, if a little unwise now and then.

Enter a year 10 gentleman who has a history of bullying people. He wanders by us, trips up and falls flat on his face. Unfortunately, this coincided with said year 7 laughing at something. Of course, the year 10 boy in question becomes awfully violent and tackles him, beating the crap out of him. I step in and pull him off, and he proceeds to punch me in the back of the head to no avail as I escort my mate to his bus. The year 10 lad gets on too, and gets together with his friends to try to get me at my stop (the foot of my drive). Against one year 10, I was confident, but against three who actually knew how to fight, I was less so.
Fortunately, the bus driver got wind of it, and as he dropped me off he closed the doors as they tried to follow, and the bus drove off. That year 10 got banned from the bus for a month because of his stupidity, and though his dad tried to threaten me in my own home soon after, eventually he had the good grace to gtfo. I'm still really proud of that, to be honest.

The second event took place last year. I've since started university, and living in the city has been quite different from what I'm used to. However, a few weeks ago I came across an unfortunate scene indeed...this rather angry woman who was beating up her boyfriend because, and I quote "he didn't get me the bracelet I wanted." This was a bit trickier to handle, because I know that there's a lot of fuss about whether a man is allowed to defend himself, or someone else, against a woman. It just gets taken badly. Eventually, however, I pull her off him, and offer to buy the guy a drink. Didn't hear from him again after that. It just looked like he needed a break, bless him.

I saved two kids from drowning in two different situations. The first one was when I was 16 when I was playing with two kids at a public pool. One didn't know how to swim and found himself in deep water. After I sat this kid on the side of the pool, his younger brother, thinking I put him in the deeper water to begin with, kicked me in the head (He was 5, so his kick wasn't hard). The 5 year old was then forced to apologise to me a few minutes later after his father caught wind of it.

The second time I was 19 and at the pools with my family. We were about to leave the pools to get some lunch when I noticed a 3 year old girl (she looked it) flailing near me. I grabbed her and placed her on the side of the pool, where she began to cry. I asked the girl where her mother was as she noticed what happened to her daughter. It turned out said girl was trying to swim after her cousins, who were in the deeper water nearby and thanked me to helping her.

Both of those were particularly special to me, because somebody actually saved me from a watery grave when I was younger too. I don't who he was, but I will be grateful for what he did.

Found a friendly but incredibly starved and worm-ridden cat dying in a field near my house, took him to vet to be checked out, and had him set up with a good family by the next day. He made me wish I could keep pets at my place.

While I may not look it in my Avatar I was the bully that bullied the bullies through middle school to my final year in high school. It started off as nothing, I just snapped one day and protected a kid from his attacker. Ever since I had kids coming to me for protection which involved me walking them home unless push came to shove (Which it always did). It got to the point to where I was well known for this, I was even supposed to get jumped one day (A bully I had taken care of wanted revenge, paid them) but when they walked up and realized it was me they backed down and tried befriending me. I got off easy because my aunt not only knew the principle personally but had a hand in funding the school, got in serious trouble at high school, but it was worth it. When I look back on it I feel pretty proud of myself, despite the angry parents.

Yesterday, while grocery shopping, there was a lady in front of me, paying the cashier, when at the corner of my eye, I see something fall to the ground and under the counter. At first, I ignored it, thinking it was a minor piece of paper that was not important to her, as she seemed to not notice. Before she finished her transaction, I got a good look at the item and it turned out to be a big cash bill that she had dropped.

I promptly picked it up and handed back to her, which she immediately thanked me for.

Well, I was the guy who known as a "monster", mostly because I got into a lot of fights as my father had taught me to defend the weak and bullied. I never really held back, so that's where the monster- part came.

And I always help people get their baby carriage out of the train.
