Well I doubt that we will suffer a split considering that no matter how weak the states get we are more likely to attack everyone and self destruct taking many other nations along with us rather than being divided up. Quite frankly that is the one unifying thing about us in that most Americans will agree they are Americans and want to be Americans even if they think the whole nation is fucked up beyond repair. Its a very odd kind of patriotism but its one we are used to. Still even in a worst case scenario that whole map is laughable. If china invaded they would either take everything west of the Mississippi or be bulkheaded way back to california/Oregon/Washington while continuing aggression against the rest of the nation. That is the laughable worst case scenario as China holding any American soil is doubtful even with our debits.
Still i don't have too much to worry about, as if this guy was right My state becomes part of Canada and we are already Canada lite. think about it. We have the only decent Hockey team in the union, even us veggies know how to hunt and fish, we don't usually lock our doors and lake effect gives us weather that rivals any major Canadian city more than any other state hit with it. Even our leader is Canadian. Take away the poor healthcare system and mass unemployment and we are canada.

The problem with Russia is that it's still handled by Soviets at heart. Old men who are just as militant and headstrong as they were three decades ago. The country just seems to be stuck on a revolving wheel, almost submerged in a sea of crap. Tzarist Russia was miserable and broken with a few specks of competence. Imperial Russia was more of the same. The revolution just lopped of an out of touch, uncaring ruling elite and replaced it with an overly ambitious and barbaric ruling elite. Now the remains of the past are riding the coattails of the new government, slowing it until it rockets into another heap of abuse and refuse.
