Why doesnt shelby knox just make her own game, where women have to carry Duke Nukem back to their base and must slap his posterior accordingly? People really need to chillax and find a sense of humor.

I love how Pritchford seems thoroughly oblivious to the fact that "a love slap on the booty" is if anything more condescending.
This is a game which should never have seen the light of day. If its development gestation of nearly 15 years is proof of anything, that is it.

That said, I think petitions and the like is the wrong approach in applying criticism. Not to mention silly.
Don't get me wrong, I think Duke Nukem has always been a neanderthal exercise in the most base and worthless qualities of this medium, but I won't deny it the right to be base and worthless.
It can fester in its own infantile corner, and I'll just pretend it never existed.
Those who are actually interested in the tripe get to satisfy some absurd desire to revisit a severely aged concept, and the rest of us can live our lives blissfully unawares.
Win-win?

You see? That's how you handle something you don't like, but that nobody is forcing you to partake in. I imagine that it'll probably be easier for LiquidGrape to avoid DNF than it will be for me to avoid terrible pop music. I saw the Super Bowl, and it made me want to throw myself off of my roof. But I'm not going to storm the steps of Walmart/MTV/Fox/whatever to force my tastes on other people. Fortunately during the half time show, just when I was about to give up all hope (just after Slash arrived and things deteriorated even faster), I remembered that my TV had a remote and that I could make the choice to change the channel. So I did, problem solved.

""The Capture the Babe mode of the Duke Nukem game, which will be played primarily by young people,"

Its rated 18, argument lost.

Why do we even bother with ratings and Parental Codes if people are just going to ignore them

Guys, we've reached a point of no return. In order to ensure that our children are safe from all questionable or objectable media we should ban all books, movies, toys, games, and appliances that may be hazardous to their mental and physical health from Walmart.

It's the only way to be safe.

Still, on a serious note. It's almost fair to say these kind of activists don't have any sense of humor, at least in their individual field. I'm constantly surprised at how many people hold this narrow view that games can't be Satirical or that it's the industry's fault that kids are still playing games intended for us Mature players.

When the aliens come, we'll let them keep Knox.
Assuming they'll even take her.
This is frankly, the biggest exercise in how to abuse the constitutional rights I have seen. When it's important? Hell yes, go for it. When it works? Sure, why not. But on a PARODY? No. I'm sorry, but the concept of Duke Nukem has slipped so far over your head, I hope you were ducking.

I hope Gearbox won't give in to these crazy demands. The game is not for kids anyway. And adults are responsible enough to know what they want to play so fuck that *****.

Why can't they just take out the option to slap them on the ass? The whole "calm down the flag" concept seems to be adding more annoyance to CTF anyway. Maybe they could panic and then calm themselves down?

Wow, I never dreamed I'd be in a conversation like this, saying these things. The world is a weird place.

Maybe there will be an option for that in the multiplayer mode menu.

And not a single fuck was given at Gearbox this day.
I laughed good and hard when I read this. Thank you!

Walmart is going to be one of the primary sellers of the game? That statement alone shows she knows nothing of vidya games. Out of every Walmart I've been in none has had a games section larger then the used PS2 games section of my local Gamestop.

So go ahead Walmart ban the game more stock for other retailers.

If Duke was gay and they were carrying around men slapping them on the arse no one would give a shit....

Wheres the gender equality in that?

Eh, maybe that's what it's supposed to be, but now it just seems like feminists are the one being loud, obnoxious, and fighting for women to be better off than men instead of equal; and that the people who really do want equality aren't called anyway. I can't help but see it any other way these days, at least.

Regardless though, shut up Shelby Knox. I say everyone who wants the game should go pre-order at walmart.com. Anti-petition, basically. See if Walmart cares more about some whining idiots with a petition or all that money they'd be passing on if they didn't stock the game and lost those preorders.

How 'bout Feminazis?

I'm not exactly sure why she wants to have it her way with only Wal-Mart. Why just Walmart? What is that going to accomplish? Is she trying to prove a point that she can get what she wants? Can't remember the last time I bought a game from there anyway.

Oh whatev's i don't care, it's not as if DNF is gonna be anything more than average right?

Except for the nostalgia driven crowd of course, to them it's gonna be like they got Jesus for Christmas

Pssh, I didn't have to read that twice to agree with that. The game is a huge "fuck you" to the modern media. Will Gearbox give a fuck? Not if it were on their last dollar and certainly not if a woman descended from New York to berate them. Free publicity FTW!

Wo-haha-wow! OH PRICELESS! I didn't even know that was true until now!

LOL!!

/shedtear

You know what Shelby Knox? I salute you for giving DNF the extra publicity. I probably wasn't even going to buy this game out of nostalgia, now, now I'm going to buy this game JUST for the online play to slap booty!

Is it just me or is how this feminist is talking is that the parents will buy this game for their children who clearly do not meet the ESRB age limit.
