I like his idea!darthzew said:You know what? He needs to join the Escapist... so we can ban his ass all the way to Gamespot.

What's the big deal about Megan Fox?

Well said. I am a PC gamer, but do I scoff and mock my friends if they want to play some Halo or CoD on the PS3/Xbox? No. Why? Because A: It is still fun. B: They are my friends.UsefulPlayer 1 said:^Seriously.ZeroMachine said:I think that playing Lego: Star Wars with Megan Fox is less about playing Lego: Star Wars with Megan Fox and more about playing Lego: Star Wars with Megan Fox. I applaud Shia for being a "hardcore" gamer, but see no reason why he needs to refuse to play the console. Sure I'll say the Wii shouldn't even be considered in the console wars, obvious as it's really a fight between PS3 and Xbox360, and more of a high tech toy then anything else, but I'll still sit down to enjoy some Wii tennis.
Although I agree that the Wii shouldn't be considered part of the console wars, it's for a different reason. It's because it sells dramatically differently to a different group of people... everyone. The PS3 and Xbox 360 have their fair shares of games for everyone, but not enough to compete with the Wii. Therefore, they are their own league. Not that this is a good thing... the Wii leaves hardcore gamers in the dust for the most part (the only games I can think of that I really, really enjoyed are Brawl, Metroid Prime 3, and Super Mario Galaxy, and Galaxy is in the "for everyone" category).300ccs of medicine said:I'm going to draw some aggro here but it's MY opinion and I'm entitled to it too. The wii is in my mind a lot like the Mac, it is very good for what it is and it will never be anything else no matter how much you like it and try to talk it up into the salvation of all gamers and computer users in the world. The wii is, like the mac, a toy. It's a shiny toy. It's "fun" to use. It's not for gamers, just like monopoly doesn't stand up to the criticisms of dedicated dungeons and dragons players, the wii just can't take it from "real gamers". Oh, and the mac is a toy too.
You see what happens when you buy a toy is that you get just what you paid for, a toy. And when it breaks its gone. And yeah all you mac fans can say that mac "just works" but that's like saying "I pledge allegiance" and leaving the rest off. The mac just works, until it breaks, and then it just doesn't.
Wii doesn't really have to compete with PS3 and XBox 360 because that would be like fisher price play houses competing with Century 21 Real Estate: they don't sell the same thing, they aren't the same, and one's for children (I'm looking at you Wii) and the other's for everyone else.
And no, I don't play console games. I have a nice fast gaming PC, and I never have problems with windows vista because I bought premium parts that do what they're supposed to do and don't corrupt matters. Did I pay an arm and a leg? No actually. My computer cost what a new mac did at the time that I bought and had double the stats and can actually DO things. (Alienware MX9750).
I have played Wii though, and I found it...diverting. I was not finding myself in desire of my time back but afterwards I didn't go tell people that I spent an hour playing "video games" but rather that I had spent an hour "playing wii".
It's apples to oranges, and you can compare them, and oranges are for grownups. You keep your applesauce machine Nintendo, I want a twist of orange in my vodka tonic.
