Am I the only one who liked Even Stevens?
No.
No you are not.

EDIT:

I like him as an actor (I don't care what anyone says, he was good in Disturbia and Holes, and I liked the Transformers movie), but he is being a Wii bit harsh there.
I sii what you did there.
If I'm honest, both of you should be shot. ;¬)
Whii should wii bii shot? If by shot you mean hugged, than I'd love to shoot you with a .44 between the eyes.
Hugging me between the eyes wouldn't be possible, but you can try. Well then I'd love to shoot you in the testicular region with a SPAS 12 shotgun.

...wait...that's not good, I think.

What I said
What you said
I appreciate that you feel that I am entitled to my opinion, even if you disagree.

I will concede that what one experiences on a Wii is by all technical accounts a "video game", as there are precious few other ways to describe what it is, as an artifact, but I maintain that it is NOT the same thing as what one CAN do on a PC, or other more advanced game platform.

I do draw issue with the lumping of all video games of any kind together as "toys." You might say that they are expensive toys. But if you call my laptop a "toy" you'll at the least get a stern talking to from me about it. Certain writers and reviewers here on the Escapist look to video games as a new media for art and expression, which I believe firmly moves them out of the realm of "toys." Would you tell Van Gogh that his paints and brushes are "toys," or that the art someone purchases for the purpose of enjoying it is a "toy"? I doubt it. I feel that this is actually a rather critical distinction and one important to people like me who hope to see more and more games come out that are involving, long, fun, and really carry a message or at least an experience that enriches the player in some way, aside from a diversion for a few hours.

All in all, I'm glad we're all of the opinion that games are fun and opinions are too and we can all make believe in our opinionasium together.

I'm sorry, but you cannot talk about anyone who made out with Megan Fox like that.
You can however talk about him since he TURNED DOWN Megan Fox. I don't care if its sex or video games...you just...you just don't.
And transformers is very much alive thank you, however flawed the movie was it was still f***ing awesome.

Megan Fox isn't into men so he's safe
She is, shes just into women too.
:D

Anyway, LaBeouf is entitled to his opinion, even if he does come off as fanboy-ish to the point of being a frat-brother-ish-dude-who-fancies-himself-a-gamer-and-bashes-consoles-that-aren't-"hardcore, bro!"

Also, I do not have a Wii, nor do I have much interest in owning one.

The second thing you said.
Oh, yes, I'm firm believer in "to each their own". And just wanted to make one more thing clear- your laptop is not a toy. The games are.

I still stand by games being toys... but who's to say toys can't be art? And not to say Van Gogh's paintbrushes were toys. Not all peices of art are toys, but sometimes toys can be peices of art. Some people view the work that goes into action figures as art. The same can be said of games.

Again, my view of it, as you know.

While i will never forgive him for the butchery of Indiana Jones, Shia LaBeouf has gained considerable stock in my eyes.

Him not liking the Wii is one thing but him insulting my grandmother is just ridiculous!

Because he made more off those movies than most make in a year- or a couple of years.

Sure- judge him based on his acting career thinking that it has anything to do with him as a person (and while you're at it, consider that he could have been in much worse movies. Stop being a nostalgic git and admit that said movies were entertaining. If you look for things to piss and moan about, you'll find them. You're problem.) but the point is, he is very successful at what he does and is entitled to his opinion just as much as anyone posting their biased opinions on this forum.

For the record, I waiting 19 hours in line for the Wii. Yea, I could have waited 6 somewhere else, but I was already 8th in line at wal-mart so I could purchase my extra wii-mote, nunchuck, and LoZ Game. They set us up in the gardening department, so we moved a couple of bags of fertilizer, found a plug-in, and played Melee until the release of the Wii. After a year of following its best games, Mario Galaxy, Kart, Zelda, Metroid Prime 3, Super Smash Braw, Guilty Gear XX AC, and even experimented with the shovel-ware and kids games for kicks, I bought a 360. My wii now sits in a bag in my closet. I pull it out every so often, when my 9 and 11 year old cousins want to play with it. I'd say I have some experience as to the let-down that was the Wii. Yea. It sells- to parents who need something for their children for christmas, or fan boys in search of nostalgia. Well spoken Shai Lebeauf. But thats just my opinion (i'm sure we can google the word "opinion" for some of you.)

Do people take him seriously nowadays? When I see him I can't imagine him as anything other than Even Stevens.

Im a Wii owner and i bet that A) im a better actor then you and B) that i could easily own you at any modern FPS that the 360 has.

What a big-headed idiot.

I'm sorry, but you're response makes it seem like you're the big headed idiot. Let the guy have his opinion, it doesn't matter whether we agree with him or not, because at the end of the day, he's going to be a rich mofo, and we will still be average people.

Who's Shia LeBoob again? I watch Transformers for Optimus Prime and Megatron, not for whiny teen kid. I'm still kinda lost on one part. Megan Fox invites him to play Lego Star Wars...I repeat, Megan Fox. And he says no because it's a Wii game. *facepalm* I'd play Wii Bowling or Final Fantasy with Megan Fox any day.
