Shiny Legendary Pokemon

The first time I got a shiny pokemon(not including Red Gyarados) was in Diamond, Onix. Then some days later another shiny, on of the birds(do not remember the name) I only have 60 hours on it so I think Im pretty lucky. In my old Pokemon Gold I have 400 hours a never saw a shiny(again, only red gyarados ofc)

Shiny regigigas. On my second play through of platinum. Caught it, re named it regikickass, And instantly collected 1.5 billion dollars worth of shocked faces from my friends who refused to believe it (One of them still thinks I hacked it in). And then I lost it. Another one of my friends kept resting the beginning of the game to try and get a shiny starter in soul silver. He gave up after a few days and 2000 something soft resets.

Not once in my entire life of playing any of the Pokemon games have I ever encountered any shiny version of any Pokemon whatsoever, other than the red Gyarados.

As far as I'm concerned, they are a myth.

Has anyone here ever caught one? What was it? How long did it take? How did it feel?

I've been trying to get a shiny Rayquaza but it's taking a while.

I don't know if it matters or not, but if you leave the room then re-enter, does it affect your chances of it being a shiny? Because I got bored of resetting for the Rayquaza, so I went off, did some stuff, now I'm back again trying.

It can take a long time. It can take you 1 reset or 8000. Honestly I wouldn't bother for Rayquaza, unless you have a masterball at hand. He is probably the hardest legendary to capture, even harder than the fleeing ones in my opinion, I beat those ones using mean look and/or arena trap.

I found a shiny one time. My anger reached new heights that day. Why of all things would the world give me a shiny Lotad? I hate that whole line of pokemon.

Ugh the only shiny I've ever encountered was an Oddish and it fled Q_Q If you managed to get your hands on this shiny Rayquaza you would be a god among Pokemon trainers.

I've played the games since they first hit the Western market, and I have seen only one shiny Pokemon: a shiny Hoot-Hoot.

I didn't realised until I saw my second Hoot-Hoot that the first was the shiny, so I went nuts thinking I'd caught two shiny Hoot-Hoot one after the other. Then it hit me and I became the sad and broken man before you.

Same here, been playing since they came out, and I've only caught a shiny pidgey. When they introduced male/female colours for that gel pokemon I thought I kept finding shinies until I looked it up and found I had caught none.

aah, the good o'l Pokemon Crystal, i was a kid playing it while watching tv, leveling my team for the elite 4 and i look at the screen and realised...I JUST KILLED A SHINY PONYTA. it was all blue and pretty and i killed it in one hit. its the only shiny i've ever seen, but then again, when i play pokemon im also half doing somthing else, not really paying attention.

after i KO'd the shiny ponyta, my main pokemon got Pokerus, or that pokemon virus...

I was fighting wild Pokemon outside Mt Silver in SS and I came across a Shiny Ponyta. I thought it was cool but then I was pissed because Shiny Rapidash looks crap. I wasn't too bothered when my sister lost it...

Since the event Gyarados doesn't count; none. Played Gold/silver with about 200 hours total,150 on Emerald, 200 on Heart Gold, and 250 on White. NEVER. SEEN. EVEN. ONE.

Rayquaza is by far the stupidest legendary to catch... And what's even more infuriating is that the last time I tried to catch him, he killed himself about 3 or 4 times, then I got really mad and my friend took over and tried for me, catching him on about the 3rd or so ultra ball.

It wouldn't be so bad... but my friend firmly believes that the B + Down myth is true, whereas I think that it's BS... I died inside that day...

Personally I found the Regi trio far, far more difficult to catch, especially Registeel.

I only use Pokeballs now anyway, unless I really can't be arsed. It's such a good feel when you toss a regular ball and does 3 shakes and it gets caught!

I have never encountered a shiny Pokemon naturally. The only time was that scripted Gyarados fight. And since this was back in Gold, a water Pokemon who's main stat was Attack was as useful as a wart that talks, I killed instead of catching.

Did I say killed, I meant to say knocked out, yes.

Since then, I've played through Crystal three times, Ruby twice, Sapphire once, Emerald four times (with a massive catching/breeding stint), Fire Red once and Diamond once. Not ever have I seen a natural shiny.

It's what I used to get all my shiny legendaries, because I'm not going to be arsed to try and reset several thousand times over to try and get one.

The first shiny Pokemon I caught was a Graveler in my friend's Pearl game. I had no idea what a shiny Pokemon was but I caught it. Then I caught a shiny Weedle in SS (FML) and eventually evolved it and traded it up to White to trade for a shiny Klink. Next I caught a shiny Lotad in White, and I don't think I found an unscripted shiny in White 2. In X, I caught a legitimate shiny Gyarados before Pokemon Bank came out, and a shiny Poliwhirl within a day of each other, and I evolved that into Politoed. Then I chained until I got a shiny Zoroark, and randomly found a shiny Tangela on the same day as shiny Z. Then I lost my X save data and had to start from ground zero. After that I was looking for shiny Poliwhirl again and found 2 shiny Basculin both blue form in the same morning. No shiny legendaries yet, but I've been looking for shiny Rayquaza in SS for maybe a year and a half off and on now?

Shiny Articuno in FireRed. Walked up to fight it a second time after accidentally making it faint the first time, and there it was. I didn't have a Master Ball either. That was the most nerve-wracking fight I've ever had in a Pokemon game.
