This, ladies and gentleman, is the awe inspiring force of nature intending to bring down MW2.

I don't think it's going to happen.
Ha, and I was just hoping he would be one of the characters in this game's opening :p
[sub]I have a bad feeling that this post could be used as ammunition by people such as he[/sub]

I think I'd recognise him if he features in the game.

In a related note, Edmonton-=Strathcona MP Linda Duncan was shocked at how badly Activision killed the PC version, and has brought forth a motion in parliament to ban Bobby Kotick from life.

...I wish. >.>

Seriously though, you Brits have got to elect better MPs. I.E. no one in any political party at the moment in Britain. Forget it, no one will ever find a decent and competent politician.
News flash: No one voted for our Prime Minister Gordon Brown. The government was voted in under Tony Blair then under inexplicable circumstances he was replaced by Gordon Brown. We are actually due for an election soon but - get this - Brown is delaying it. He can delay it as long as he can dare to.

Imagine if in 2008 Obama is campaigning for the White House and George Bush just said "Err, no. Lets not have an election for another year or two, I'd like to stay in power a bit longer" that would spark a fucking revolution but happens all the time in the UK...

On a related note of the UK being in a god awful fucking mess, US newspapers are pulling out all publications from the UK and are even going to block access to their websites from the UK because of the UK's oppressive Libel laws that are so effectively used by the rich and upper class to oppress and suppress the media.

Freedom of the press DOES NOT EXIST in the UK, hell any idea of Freedom of Speech is a fucking joke.

I mean it will soon be easier to get a hold of an American newspaper in Communist China than the United Kingdom.

Uh.. I think this guy may have a point (holds up flame shield). No, seriously. A scene where you're a terrorist and the objective is the meaningless slaughter of innocents? What kind of a game is this?

Mr. Keith Vaz can wholeheartedly execute a running jump from a cliff. You can raise concerns, buddy, but I really hope that the UK government isn't that dumb to follow you.

Uh, no.

That's not how it works. We elected the Labour Party, who elected Tony Blair as their leader. Tony Blair stepped down and the Labour Party (who we elected) then voted Gordon Brown in as their leader.

That's how it works, last I checked anyway.

he has claimed that interactive rape is a feature of some videogames (a statement quickly debunked by the BBFC) and also played a central role in bringing the brief Amazon appearance of the Japanese game RapeLay to widespread attention.
Really Andy, that could've been phrased abit better.

As it has been mentioned again......and again, this is meant to invoke player's feelings of disgust for what they and others are doing.

If Mr. Vaz would kindly look at the lower left corner of the box he should be able to see a giant red 18 sign there. It's there for a reason. It is a war game, what was he expecting? Roses and fluffy bunnies?

The parliament is overracting to this because they did warn that the game is 18+, but then again it's Activision's fault for thinking "edgy is cooler than gameplay", then charging extra money for it.

I see no side to root for.

Only now the player becomes the terrorist and can't finish the game without senseless butchery if they forgot to turn these scenes off at the beginning of the game. If this is seriously a marketing standpoint for a game, then someone seriously screwed up.

And you know that 95% of the people who play this scene will probably enjoy this part more than any other game in history for the sheer unaltered sickness and uniqueness of the concept. By this standpoint, the next Call of Duty could be where you play as Nazi's, "just doing their job" slaughtering and conquering anyone not born with certain hair color or religious beliefs.

Yes I did just compare Activision to the Third Reich.

Wait, this guys complaining about a game being realistic? We've spent the last 20 years whining about games having sucky graphics and now someone's complaining about games being to realistic?! WTF?!

Yet, they don't object to hyper-realistic war movies. Or the whole 'grindhouse' genre, for that matter. What exactly is it that makes games so different?
They're foreign to the old men who run the country. They can understand books, music, and even movies, but not video games so it makes it an easy target to waste tax payer money on while they avoid real issues. When the next generation of politicians take over, we won't see these issues again; they'll be replaced by even more absurd things.
Trust me, our MPs will talk about ANYTHING but their own incompetence and scandalous exploitation of expenses.

You have heard of the expenses scandal in our Parliament? Basically every MP has been caught playing the system and secretly ripping off as much as hundreds of thousands of pounds of taxpayers money.

Gordon Brown also seems to be the worst Prime Minister we have had since Neville Chamberlain, he is like Nixon combined with Gerald Ford combined with an old Scottish socialist.

Then let them, I'm all for different perspectives, as long as they keep it accurate. It's up to the players to be mature, as long as Activision isn't making a "lol I killed duh civvys" and instead using it to move the story accross I'm ok with it.

As for forgetting to skip the scene again that falls on the player to do.
