Boat level? I assume we're talking about Deus Ex: HR here, in which case, unless it's the DLC you're talking about I'm unsure of what you mean.

And Kyary Pamyu Pamyu? Why, yes I do. I've also got the "Fashion Monster" single, which was considerably more difficult to get ahold of.
No.. The one in ME, it's the 7th level I think... You have the boss battle with Celeste there

Yeah that song isn't even on her album... Only have it for Pon Pon Pon though. She's actually the reason I started listening to Japanese/Korean pop
Oh. Right. Oh! Riiiiiiight. Where you're trying to run from cover to cover while being sniped? I might've blocked that out of my memory, which means I'll have to agree with you. :D

Yeah, I got it because of "PonPonPon", but I like "Candy Candy" and a few others as well. It seems pretty out of place in the rest of my music library too, since she's the only J-Pop artist I've got in there.

The final room of XCOM is a total crapshoot if you enter it at the end of your turn. Thank GOD I wasn't on Iron Man mode.
Pretty much any encounter on XCOM can be a crapshoot on the higher difficulties with Iron Man enabled.

Oddly enough though, I heard that even if you get wiped on the last mission on Iron Man mode, the game gives you the option to retry the mission. :/
It's because they aren't monsters. It takes twenty-ish hours to get there, and you lose the whole damn game if you get the volunteer one-shot killed.

They don't want to be the cause of axes ripping apart computers.

Except for that one bit in the boat level. Screw that boat level.
Correct.

It's odd how the boat level is usually the fun one while the sewer level is usually the sucky one, but in Mirror's Edge, it's reversed. :/

The Boat level remains the only place where I actually have to fight people. I could totally get through it fight-free if it wasn't for the valve-doors.

I kinda liked that bit, the indoor part of that level was a ***** to speedrun. And that boss fight was so fluid.

I actually haven't even listened to the album yet... saving it for when I have time to listen to the whole thing in one go, uninterrupted:p

Have you heard of Girls' Generation? They're an Korean supergroup or something. They have a song called "Gee" that's kinda similar to PonPonPon.

You're right! And that last guy had like a M60 that could one shot you on the Hardest difficulty.

I think I got the Pacifist achievement on my first RUNthrough on the Xbox version (see what I did there?:p) Man I love that game...

- I enjoy sequels even if they're "ruining creativity" in gaming. Sequels allows one to continue an IP that they enjoy with a shiny new full length game.

- PS3 is great for Chrono Trigger and a Blu Ray player.... albeit and expensive Blu Ray/Chrono Trigger device.

- I've never claimed the Assassin Creed series to be included in gaming's great, but I might want to reconsider in as my personal Zenith.

- I might cry when my 360 becomes obsolete (don't you dare get cheeky with this one!)

- I am prejudiced and biased against Nintendo. Nintendo can never make up for the damage they've done in my eyes.... well maybe if they stuck to just game developing and scrapped hardware. I'd even settle for a Blu Ray/Chrono Trigger/Zelda device.

Man, now I want to play that game again... I've got too many other games to play. D:

I've heard of them, a girl-that-I-have-a-complicated-relationship-with loooooooves J-Pop and K-Pop, so she's shown me quite a few of their songs.

As for Kyary's album, there are a few songs that I consider to be a bit 'eh' (as is the case with a lot of pop music), but overall I think it was worth the purchase. Really catchy.

Far Cry 2 was absolutely ruined by the lack of fast travel coupled with the endless respawning enemies in jeeps.
Far Cry 2 had fast travel, though I agree with the second part.

We need a new Klonoa.
Aye, that we do.
No, it really didn't. There was one fast travel in the main town and like 4 in each corner of the map. Cue every single mission taking place around the middle-ish part of the part so each fast travel station was fucking miles away

Can we please end the talk about J-pop in this thread? If we're talking about music, discuss game soundtracks.

On that subject, I love the main theme to Warlords Battlecry 3.

I need a new computer so I can play Guild Wars 2.

I have something to say about Breath of Fire 2 involving Katt, but I can't remember what it is... other than she needs to show up in Capcom's fighting games.

Yeah but I think she produced it herself so I'll forgive any not so good songs:)

Haha I'm sorry, it's just that I thought I was the only non-japanese person that knew of her.

Maybe she could make a song for the new FF game:)

Skyrim is the most immersive RPG money can buy, as long as you never ever talk to anyone and just wonder about admiring the view.
So... bad rpg, great hiking simulator?

In the Leon campaign of Resident Evil 6, the villain is a man who turns into a dog, then a trex, then a dog again, and finally into Jeff Goldblum from The Fly.
It's such a bitter-sweet campaign for me. I think Leon is my favorite, but Helena is annoying. It's the only campaign in which the enemies die if you shoot them in the head and won't turn into a bullshit silk worm zombie. Half the time you spend fighting bullshit bosses though. All of which get very trivial by the third time through.

I also want to add that you should never name a boss Debroha. I can't take the goo-dripping naked woman with giant death tentacles coming out of her back and face serious, because I keep thinking of the line "Take a dump on Debroha's desk, LIKE A BOSS" from the Like a Boss song.

Wait, people were getting it for things other than hiking?

"God dammit, even Pokemon Conquest is just freaking Pokemon. I wish I understood why people liked this series?"

"SFxT has too many characters."

"I wish I believed in a higher being so I could pray that a Skullgirls sequel comes out with a disc release."

"I'm just playing Persona 4 Golden until I can get a mainstream SMT game to play."

"FUCKING GRAPHICS ERRORS ON PSCX2 WHEN I'M PLAYING NOCTURNE. I HAVE THE DISC, JUST WORK, PLEASE."

A joking conversation:

"Honey, Etrian Odyssey 4 comes out on the 26th."
"When will I hear from you again?"
"Roughly a week or two. Unless you want to talk about EO?"
"Guess I'll see you then. Don't forget to shower."
"Eh, I can play in the bath."

"Holy shit, Nintendo Land is actually fun."

I've only started Chris's campaign, and ammo is more of an issue there then in the actual "Survival Horror" campaign. I loved the start of chapter five for Leon, but dear god that boss fight just kept going on and on, and on, and on, and on. Because of that chapter, my favourite character in Resident Evil is now that random soldier who drives the Humvee. He just does not give a single fuck.

I think Story is more important than gameplay.
Dragon Age 2 is great.
This year's game lineup looks very disappointing compared to previous years.
Every Uncharted game has the exact same story.
The Assassin's Creed series has a terrible story.
Alpha Protocol was quite good.

Rayman Origins is the best platformer I've ever had the pleasure to play, The way the movements flow into each other make it better than any other platformer. (even though it was the first game to make me physically ill)

I worry about Nintendo's future.

I view Microsoft?s rare as nothing more than a party game developer and secretly hope that one day they will announce that they are getting the old team back together and making a new conker for Wii U.

I cannot fathom how people can play modern military shooters in single player the way you are told what to do with so little deviance annoys the hell out of me.

Deus Ex:HR is just meh.I see no reason to continue playing it.

Mass Effect 3 is the best Bioware game in terms of pure gameplay and an amazing third-person cover-based shooter. Vanquish seems boring in comparison, and I'm not even going to talk about Gears of War, Uncharted or other generic peakaboo shooters.

I don't understand why so many people think the combat is mediocre, bad, or simply not relevant. Probably because the genre was never interesting to begin with, or because no one looked for Bioware and asked for an action game.
