Have you played Legend of Zelda?
Have you played Devil May Cry?
Would you like to play those games again?

If you answer yes to all three, get Darksiders. It's solidly made and a good way to burn time, but it does absolutely nothing new or original and the whole game is fairly uninspired.

I got it late this week and am loving it so far. It's just mindless fun. Don't expect a deep story or moving characters. Just expect to kill lots of things, break stuff and solve a few puzzles. It's a nice break from all the FPS games that I normally play. And for the price you mentioned?....Yes, go and get it!

The game, while breaking no new ground, is polished, well thought-out and highly entertaining.

While others are correct that there is a fair bit of puzzel-solving, combat is by no means ignored. Those saying that you cannot combo with more than one weapon (including Yahtzee) are plain wrong - my favorite combo was to fling enemies into the air with my sword, 3 aerial sword hits, two aerial sycthe hits, throw the boomerang to hold them air-born and then shred them with the pistol from below.

The dungeons are enjoyable and the bosses are great spectacles.

You'll get a solid 15-20 hours exploring and collecting goodies - more if you want to grind for a particular couple of achievements/trophys.

In short - buy it!

I've heard a lot of good things about it from people who have played the game. I would proably suggest renting it though. The lack replay value mkes it diffcult to keep enjoying it after beating it.

What do you fellow Escapees think?

Should I buy it? £24.99 isnt bad. I was a fan of the DMC series.... if that has any signifigance :)

Opinions, worth my pennies?
You could just wait until the 90 minute demo (That is not a joke - It really is that huge) is released for XBLA and PSN on February 25. Then you can use that a great way to see if it's worth it.

Edit: For clarification, the demo is basically all of the first dungeon or something in the game. It's not a time limit.

I can't remember who did it, but the person reviewing it on the Escapist thinks the deal breaker is the lovely style of the end of the world. Looking at the video part of the review; I agree.

If a blend of DMC2-difficulty combat, fetch quests for weapons, and good art direction is to your taste, buying it is probably a good idea.
