Should i buy DeadSpace?

It was pretty good. (sadly I never turned It back on after my initial 8 hour run through with a buddy)... Its not as scary as it could have been though, Not sure why I never beat it
For me it was more of a renter then something I would buy. I enjoyed it though, but its not too spectacular.
Played it for a while and it's a horrible game.
Basically, it's a dark action game with a slow aiming system against fast enemies.(you still win for some reason...)
Everything is slow, attacks, aiming and even movement. There is absolutely no variation, every single scare is repeated to the point where you know where the enemy will jump out.
Short version: Don't bother unless you like a slow, boring game filled with cheap predictable scares.

Despite what others are saying, I actually enjoyed it a good deal. Not scary at all (except for the few sections where you're trapped with an unkillable enemy), but still good fun.
i bought it, and there hasn't been a day that i've regreted doing so. its a fantastic game that keeps you on the edge of your seat all the way till the credits roll. don't get me wrong, it has it's flaws, but then again, what doesn't. everything that might be a gamebreaker is never bad enough to make it not worth playing. if you're not into playing through old games later on, then it would be a smart move to rent it. but if you like to get everything in a game. it will definatly keep you busy for a good long time.
You should rent Dead Space because other than collecting all the achievements, there's no real replay value.
umm Id get it. I really enjoyed it. Its got some good action scenes and shooting arms and legs off monsters doesnt get old that quickly. I felt like going back and replaying it to upgrade and play around with some of the weapons I never got to really use.
I wouldnt rent it because here in Aus you can get it for $15 (JB) and it would cost like $8 to rent.

One of my friends told me not to get it because i guess there is this one enemy, he said it was like little green blobs that get on you cand kill you within seconds, and there is no way to get them off(he said shaking around does not work), is that true? or is there a way to get them off?
I honestly had fun with it, yes there are better examples out there but overall Dead Space as a game seems pretty rewarding. The monsters look hideous but cool and the dismemberment mechanic works. Yeah it's not scary but it is fun and I certainly wouldn't call it bland.
