Should I Buy Left 4 Dead

I bought Left 4 Dead 2 without buying the first Left 4 Dead. Should I buy it too or is it a waste of money?

L4D2 is really just a massive upgrade of L4D so buy the first one only if you really like this one and want more campaigns.

The two games are very similar, but L4D2 has more weapons and slightly better graphics. It also depends on whether or not you live in Australia, because the censored version of L4D2 is utter shit compared to the uncensored, and is less violent than the first one.

You don't have to buy the first one, but you should if you want more levels and stuff to play with.

Yeah, it's pretty much the framework of what you're playing now. I'd say do it, because the characters, in my humble opinion, are far more interesting and entertaining than the newer survivors. Plus, it's not a huge step back. Just no melee weapons and only 5 types of special infected, Boomer, Smoker, Witch, Tank and Hunter.

I'd say not unless you have money to burn. I'd recommend killing floor if you just want a generally different zombie killing experience (imo it was a lot better than left 4 dead and its expansion/sequel), if you just want more left 4 dead try some user created content.

Yeah, Killing Floor is great. I recommend it as well, though I wouldn't say it's better than L4D(2), I enjoy them equally.

Getting L4D might be a good idea. The new content for L4D2 will feature the original survivors, so you might want to get acquainted with them. I also heard that L4D will get another update to tie into the events in the L4D2 DLC. L4D is pretty cheap and you can wait for a Steam weekend deal for it to become even cheaper.

I can't tell of the OP is a PC gamer or not. If not forget what I said about Killing Floor and Steam, as they are only on the PC.

I would recommend playing L4D. I had fun with it, when I did play it. Though I never got around to playing L4D2 which I understand is little more than an expansion pack. I've also heard that Killing Floor is a great game to play, if you are looking for something along the lines of Zombie FPS.Though I myself, am unsure about playing it just yet. I don't know many people that play it, even though it seems under-rated in my opinion. Though much of the fun in this game would come from the co-op play, at least for me anyways.

While I would love, love, love to say "ZOMG BUY IT LOL!!1," I can't. L4D1 was the first 360 game I really got into, and one of my favorite games ever... but after having L4D2 slip into it's slot of "game I am always playing," I've found it hard to go back.

Don't get me wrong; L4D1 is still a great game. However, there's JUST enough different between 1 and 2 to make a transition difficult. And, if you start with L4D2, and don't have the nostalgia of playing the first one, it just might be even harder.

Long, rambling, story short: Buy it if you find a great deal on it. Otherwise, maybe just play the demo, read a wiki or two, and call it good.

I Personally Prefer Left 4 Dead 1 for the cast in it, but it does suffer from a lack of weapons, not to mention the modding community is kinda leaving it behind which is a shame but valve chose to let L4D2 have more user created flexibility from what ive read, But don't let that sway you there still plenty of fun to be had on Left 4 Dead 1.

My Left4Dead is Personally fairly modified:

* Minimal HUD
* Camo Bill
* New Pistol Skin
* Ravaged Zoey (lol)
* New Assault Rifle Skin
* New Weapon Sounds
* New Main Menu
* Added Server Browser
* about 10Gb worth of Custom maps

So mine Personally carry's alot of Replay Value to me, I Also still play it with friends as sometimes you just want some lulz on No Mercy or Dead Air xD
