At 22, my parents tell me it is getting ridiculous, but I say perish the thought!

I love the tradition, and more importantly, I love the candy. I am going to see if I can find some kids to take so its not weird, but I want to go!

Do you have a working costume (and I mean a real costume, not just a hoodie and you say you are something stupid)? If so, go ahead. I personally give out candy to anyone regardless of age who is in a costume. If you don't wear one, I tell them to go away.

Indeed I do, I am going as zorpox the conquerer!

My costume is almost finished, just need to find a way to make the belt and find correct goggles.

I wish I was short again. But I was 6' at 13-ish(Currently 6'6" at 20). Haven't been able to go Trick or Treating (or get the child discounts at places) for a reaaaaally long time.

But yeah. If you're able to pass as a kid (or take a kid so you can pretend to be their guardian) go for it.

No absolutely not what are you 12?
One does not "trick or treat" at age 22
ONE MUST GO OUT THERE AND SCARE THE HELL OUT OF EVERYONE!, it's not about the candy anymore! It's about the fear you bring into the hearts of men and women alike! Terrify them till they rue the day they decided to celebrate All Hallows Eve! RUE THE DAY!

Go for it. You never know. My little brother went trick or treating with his girlfriend when he was 22 and they went as hippies. The parents loved it so they gave them candy for it.

If you were 12 I'd say don't bother- that is, if you lived here in Australia.
Halloween celebrations in this country are so pathetic- I'd be fine if everyone did it or if no one did it, but the fact that there's always a really small percentage of the population sort of throwing half-arsed celebrations, it just makes the whole Halloween thing really awkward down here.

Here's the trick to going trick or treating as an adult without being creepy[footnote]in the wrong way, that is[/footnote]: go with a group. Either chaperone a group of little kids around, or get a group of other young adults together. It's only weird if you're doing it alone.

Free candy with the only trade off being a little self-shame and a lot of pity from adults?

I'm in.

To be honest at that age on Halloween, I was party hopping doing drugs, making out with random people, and breaking into graveyards so...

Your parents should be fucking happy all you want is some damn candy.

Dude, free candy! Plus, you can dress up as anything you want.

If candy or dressing up isn't your thing, then that's totally understandable. Else, get out there and get a pillow case full of candy!

Me, I've stopped trick or treating a while ago, but I see no harm in other people doing it. :)

To be perfectly honest, you're too old for it.. so yea it's a little strange.. However, no harm in having harmless fun. That being said, you should go with a young sibling/relative instead of just going by yourself.

Also, candy makes you fat more than it ever did before, at whatever age you used to trick'r'treat. I'm just saying.

You shouldn't go out trick or treating, instead you should dress up but stay at home, and kit your home out to be like a ghost-train. Then when kids come round trick or treating, you lead them around your spooky-adventure house.

I plan to do that when I have my own house.

Although it is more acceptable to do so with a group of likeminded peers when you get older than it is to go alone; I say you can trick or treat as long as you want to.

I'm going to trick or treat as long as I can! FREE CANDY! :D

Same here.

To the op: I do have to wonder about if you're goin it alone or not. Doing it alone may set some people off and taking a group of kids you don't have any particular relation to may also. I don't know if you know these kids or not and it wouldn't upset me but those darn paranoid parents.
