Quite the setup right there. Be ready for the jet engine they send as the cooling fan for your CPU. It keeps it pretty cool but the thing is loud.

what case do you have, the best way to quieten it is probs to replace the fans with silent ones, or maybe a better case, personally the loudest thing in my rig is my terra hdd

Really? I heard the direct opposite, but that was coming from AMD themselves, so I guess thats something they have to say

I've had my system for 1.5 years now:

-CASE: Raidmax Tornado ATX case (it's cheap AND flimsy; but seriously, it does fine aside from being cramped)
-MOBO: MA478 Plus ASUS Mobo (It has a lot of USB ports, which is nice)
-CPU: AMD Phenom II x4 970 BE @ 3.5GHZ (Quad-core)
-RAM: 4GB Kingston HyperX DDR2 @ 800MHz
-GPU: ATI Radeon HD 4870 1GB (This thing runs as hot as 90C+, and it scares me)
-PSU: 550W ePower PSU (Sometimes I wonder if this is the reason my GPU runs so hot)
-STORAGE: 500GB Western Digital average-ish HDD; 250GB External; 500GB External
-DISPLAY: 1920x1080 LG Flatron E2350V Monitor.

A mix of pre-built and self-installed-ness. It ran me just under $800.

Still runs the latest games quite well at high settings, so I see no reason to upgrade anything soon... unless my techno-lust gets out of hand again.

Surprisingly my GPU hasn't burst into flames yet. Any tips on getting it cooler? Is my PSU causing it? I have good airflow in case. I replaced all my case fans, which move much more air than my old ones did. I've replaced the thermal compound on my GPU (now it idles 5C cooler, but load temps are the same). I have a custom fan profile set for my GPU fan.

I don't know what else to do QQ. Guess I'll just upgrade when my 4870 explodes one day.

Origional setup: Q6600

EDIT: It's like 5 years old right now... Though the motherboard/CPU/CPU-Fan part is the only origional bit that needs replacement right now.

Made for Vista, Runs on XP because Vista sucked balls(It crashed real bad a few times)
Motherboard; P5B-MX with 2x2Gb RAM (so 4 Gigabites)
Chipset: Asus Intel Core 2 Quad 2.4 Ghz
Graphics(new): Nvidia EN 420 GT 1 Gb (sadly the sims 3 doesn't recognize it)(used to be EN8600GT Silent)
Harddrives : 1x 1Tb and two more, although I don't know how big they are...
Power: something that gives 500watt, don't know the name

This is the best I can do, as I'm not at home. I'm saving up for this thing right now;

E6750 dual core overclocked to 3.2GHz, 4GB RAM, and an 8800 GT.
It's half a decade old by now, and it still plays ALL games at medium to high settings.

I have the 1090T in mine so from what I know they should be the same stock coolers. It's fine idle but under load it gets a little loud spinning at 5200 RPM. now don't get me wrong it is a fantastic stock cooler keeping my cpu idle at 29c and about 45c under load.

Alright. I don't think it'll bother me, i'm used to have a PC that's noisy, but I appreciate the heads up :)

Heh, I'm sorry, Leviathan. I'm afraid I can't do that.

Hell, I'm probably better off using a typewriter. The fact it's so crappy is the main reason I'm not a PC gamer.
Who says you need a monster of a PC to be a PC gamer? I'm a pretty hardcore PC gamer, and the last few titles (Hostile Water, Battle Engine Aquila, Nexus) I've been playing are all at least 7 years old because my PC's getting really long in the tooth.

And there's nothing to be embarrassed about posting your specs here. People are not showing their e-peens here (no one's comparing) - PC gamers just like to talk about their rigs because of the work they put into it.

OT

Windows 7 32-bit
Pentium Dual Core @2.70GHz
2GB DDR3
ATi HD4350
ASRock G41C-S
300GB Internal Hard Drive

Finished The Witcher 2 with just the texture resolution turned down. Worked fine except for a bad case of texture pop-in. The old girl's 4 years old now, and in desperate need of a hardware upgrade.
