Hello, friends!

I've been playing too much some Minecraft recently and started a new world after installing some mods. So, with a new world comes a whole new base. Bases can be small, or they can be absolutely massive. (I prefer mine on the small size.)

So, I want you to show off your crib! Or, your creations, rather! Doesn't have to be a house, might be some cool redstone mechanism you made. Anythin' you are proud of and wanna show off![footnote]In regards of Minecraft, of course.[/footnote]

I'm still working on the Wizard's tower my D&D group took over and made into a full keep. It's probably going to be well over 25 thousand bricks all done by me not counting the redstone and before I get to making the true underground segments and tunnels. I'll post some overheads and interiors later. Sadly I can't replicate the talking doors or doomsday laser but alas.

My server's currently having some issues but will post something in the morning. I'm currently moving from an IndustrialCraft, Redpower, Factorisation style processing and storage system to using Applied Energistics. Trying to fit an entire processing system and storage within one chunk but keep it looking sleek and futuristic.

One thing I am proud of is my mob grinding factory, got 2 blaze farms powering all my machines and quarries.

I've started an entirely new base tonight, just because my previous ones never actually looked good, they always started off with me building a contraption and thinking "I'll build the walls later." This time I'm actually going for aesthetics, I've found a nice lake with a village nearby that I've added a neat windy path around.

Oh god why'd you do this to me!

Incoming pic'tur barrage...

When I started this world I wandered about, lost, not sure where to go or what to do, not unlike a post apacolypse survivor might feel. I happened to come upon this village, at which point I made it my mission to turn this undefended hovel into a fortress.

My home with accompanying greenhouse while the gathering night encroaches in the background.

My treehouse home. This world isn't as developed as some of the others, I havent given it as much attention as I should.

Inside of treehouse.

Somewhat unassuming exterior...

Gives way to a hidden staircase that plunges into the earth.

A work in progress rail station...

leads to a lengthy trek across the guts of the subterranean lairs

The entryway greets thee.

And finally, the actual fortress.

Hope you enjoyed by overblown presentation and dull building techniques. : D

Well unfortunately my most visually impressive creations have all been made on servers controlled by someone else and the worlds have either been wiped or the servers have been discontinued. So I don't have any pictures to show off, but I can describe some of them.

One of them was a circular castle funneling out of the sea, made almost entirely of netherrack. The cool thing about this castle was you could create makeshift barriers at any time by lighting parts of the floor on fire.

I also made a Bioshock themed hidden underground city which I built into a natural ravine I found at near bedrock level. The natural floor of the entire massive ravine was flooded with lava, which was really cool and I built a network of glass tunnels throughout the ravine, connecting the two walls. I also made a lighthouse on the surface which served an entrance to my city via a very long drop. A switch inside the city allowed me to toggle on and off whether I would let others use the entrance, when the switch was in one position anyone making the fall would instantly be killed from fall damage and lava, when the switch was in the other position they would safely drop into a pool of water.

My (latest) mansion is still a work in progress, I'll take some screenshots when I get home tonight.

it's a double layer wheat farm, made with 2 farms from forestry that keep the wheat replanted after the 2 combines harvest any ripe stuff and send all the wheat to the fertilizers, keeping them full, and all the seeds back to the farms, keeping them full. excess seeds are destroyed through a void pipe, and excess wheat is sent to the moistener to make mulch for fueling the fertilizers. if all 3 machines are full, then excess wheat is also sent to a void pipe and destroyed. nothing is spit out onto the ground, so the system doesn't create any unnecessary lag. the fertilizers keep all the bio-gas engines that run everything fueled up with bio-mass, and the excess bio-mass is processed in a still to make bio-fuel which is sent to my remote 10k bucket tank through ender-tank transmission. there are also two aqueous accumulators for keeping the 2 fertilizers and the moistener filled with water, too.
it's a very compact system taking up only a 4x4 space if you don't count the farm. it's also mostly self sufficient in that it keeps all the machines and engines fully supplied and functioning by itself for the most part, the only thing i have to do once every blue moon is manually transfer the mulch 3-6 blocks from the moistener to the fertilizers, but only because this is impossible to automate.
the quarry is just there to keep the chunk loaded. it isn't turned on or part of the system in any way.
it's my own design, and i literally just finished building it 2 hours ago and was feeling pretty proud of myself, so i just thought i'd show it off since this topic just coincidentally happens to be here. >.>

My baby. Took about 6 months of stone generating, forestry management and mining to put that thing together.
Wide landscape shot in old setting. I'm in the process of integrating this build into a large biome world, but it needs extensive landscaping before I can take pictures.

Ground level shot of the rear face of the structure and better view of the airship dock.

I'm in the process of rebuilding mine after the server I originally built it in reset the map.
I do have another 20 or so that haven't been reset, but I CBF going on and getting screenshots, or finding the screenshots others have taken. Only mods I use are LB Photo Realism and Sonic Ether's mod of the GLSL shaders mod. Might get around to it sometime, but a short list of my more favourite bases;
-The original version of my current mansion. Complete with Biodome, testing rooms, storage rooms, crafting rooms, library & enchanting room, potion room, entry hall, 2nd story bedrooms & balconies to oversee everything, hidden nether portal and hidden vault. Everything you could possibly need in vanilla Minecraft in one place, with obsidian generators, mines, mushroom farms, everything else farms, animal breeding programs - everything you can imagine to gather resources. It was the HQ of what was to be the construction company my friend and I were going to run, more a guild than a company I guess. We were going to build a large Marza Dreadnought for our new home, but the server was wiped so... Nope.
-The Hyperion Battlecruiser. Not a 100% faithful reconstruction, but contained the canteen, crew quarters, bridge, captain's quarters, hangar & engineering, engines room, a working Yamato Cannon and Working laser pulsers. The Yamato cannon had an arming switch and a firing button. Once the arming switch was activated a warning siren would play, and several redstone torches and wires on top of the ship would start flashing in a charging up sequence.
-Underwater city that is maybe 1/10th complete. Takes about an hour for the water to flood down when I spawn it in ATM, but its worth it for the screenshots I take afterwards. Currently contains a high rise residential building with small rooms, a shopping plaza with a casino, music shop, theatre, weapons storage room, iced over room, and several other shops I've forgotten, and an airlock. Need to do more terrain around it to be able to build more buildings, but it takes an amazing amount of time to do that so... Will have to wait until later.
-Dwarven City. Built 100% legitimately, think Orzammar from DA:O only mirrored. Close to scale, maybe a bit smaller. Not quite the right level of detail on some things, but its hard to do that with Minecraft sadly.
-Massive Obsidian Mage Tower. Looks cool from the outside, but the inside is shit.

I was going to get pictures of all of them sometime, but haven't had the time yet sadly =/

Look upon my works, ye mighty, and despair.

As it happens, this is actually pretty old, so old that I can't remember what texture pack I was using. But it has four bedrooms, an upstairs art gallery, a huge turret and is balanced precariously at the top of a mountain, so everything's kept nice a realistic. In the drawing room (yes, that's what it's called) there is a hidden switch which takes you down into a passage, where a sign reads 'All good things of this earth flow from the cellar.', you'll then take a pretty hairy mine cart ride down to my secret menagerie, which houses one of every mob in the game, including an Ender Dragon egg. This was done in creative mode, but this was before I discovered MCedit, and the Dragon egg is the plunder from an actual, legitimate quest.

My second massive project was a huge shopping precinct, which has still to be furnished. I did use MCedit for this, as it was essentially an experiment to see how far I could go using the 'mirror' tool.

But my current almost-finished project is a 1:8 scale replica of an Imperial Sword-Class Escort ship from Warhammer 40k, which has turned out to be rather cool, more than 400 blocks in length. I'll need to get the last few rooms finished and take some pictures. Obviously the interior isn't to scale, but it's still very impressive, if I do say so myself.

I just trawled my photobucket and can't find any pics, I did only have a small house with lots of paintings. I made a castle too! I do miss playing Minecraft.

So I'll share my shrine I made for my pet wolf, Mr Sanders who died defending me from a zombie.

The painting is just some random one but if you squint it does look like a wolf...

Okay, here's my little world in a nutshell.

I'm adding a lava mote

The default texture makes all the wood look the same ):

It has 3 floors going down

The fridge actually works, if you push the button food pops out.

For super fast smelting

Purely aesthetic, you can't read them.

For when you just got too much cobblestone and/or want to watch something burn.

Hopefully when complete you'll be able to control how many books surround it.

It's taller than your mom

That's all glass.

The white stuff is clouds

Behind it you can see the arch, I'm from St. Louis that's why.

nether portal at the top

I would show off my home, but seeing as I was recently banned from the server I played on cause my best friend turned down a 13 year old, and then claimed sexual harassment on both of us to get us banned, I can't show you. It was pretty standard compared to those buildings though. God damn I'm jealous.
