So there are other things i can conquer out there. This is glorious.
in theory one would never run out of things to conquer. beyond our universe is the theoretical multiverse, a space populated by existences (universes) and beyond that is the omniverse, populated by spaces populated by existences (multiverses) and beyond that another theoretical space, and beyond that, and beyond that, and beyond that, and so on for infinity.

so one would never fully conquer every thing in any existence ever.
Unless i conquer heaven and hell.

Wouldn't it be easier to just conquer time?

We should remember that that 13.7 billion light year number only represents the part of the universe that is visible. Which happens to correspond exactly to the age of the universe since that is how far any photon could have possibly gotten in the time span available. Which means that the universe is far larger than can possibly be viewed. (Estimates are at about 45 billion light years across at the low end, ranging up to nearly infinite.)

Oh and that's also why the universe appears to be a sphere with us at the center. You can only look 13.7 billion LY distant before you reach the event horizon of the big bang.

And to think there are those who say life only exists on Earth. How the hell should we know? We practically know NOTHING about what's out there.
We're still constantly finding amazing new things here and we've had a few thousand years to work on that one...

Remember seeing this vid before and thinking .....

EDIT: It's this kind of shit that makes me smile, make me love where we are and the universe. It's just... beautiful. i love it. This moments make me feel one with everything. Happy moments.
Really? Cause it makes me feel irrelevant. Looking at that video and then seeing where I live and how we still try our best to exterminate each other instead of uniting to find out everything about the universe makes me sad.

But also looking at stuff like this makes me wonder what an idiot one has to be to say that there are no aliens. If we exist, and if we know no end to universe isn't it possible that there is at least 1 race out there that's more advanced than us? Just one, even though there are probably millions of them.

I love things like this. Makes me wish I was smart enough to be an Astro-physicist. IT's the kind of thing that makes me adore Mass Effect, even though I know it has barely any actual fact.

Yes but our environment is what we make it. You shouldn't feel irrelevant because we live in a massive universe. We still live on Earth and do the things we do. Those things are important to us. Life is relative. It doesn't matter if there's a Galactic Council righting wrongs all round the galaxy and we're not part of it, we make our own lives.
As for the ET thing, I too used to be of that opinion until I realised that the Law of Averages isn't real. Just because the universe is... that big, doesn't mean there HAS to be other life. Now I'm not saying there isn't other life! I sure as hell amn't in a position to tell you the probability of the existence of other complex lifeforms in the uni but I do get annoyed (I'm not annoyed at you) when people say omg the universe is so big there has to be other life. Many many factors are required for complex life to form. Really... loads of factors, and as a side note I sometimes like to ponder on the possibility of us being the first complex life in the uni, or even the last existing. I mean of there are ET somewhere trying to contact us well the immense distances that light has to travel (from places observed by our scientists of which they have studied and declared unsuitable to that life to form) their messages would take ages and ages to reach us. Yes there are billions of galaxies, and the probability of life in those galaxies is unknowable but I do like to think there are many CETs in our galaxy alone :)

It may be lonely and depressing watching everyone you knew, hell, eventually everything you knew, cities countries, maybe entire solar systems, fall apart, but to be able to live to see the universe, I would gladly give up everything to see it all myself.
Seconded. We're all going to die eventueally, so given the chance of becoming the one who won't would be incredibly attractive to me.

Not if I conquer them first Snooty Englishman... Actually running everything after I take it over would be boring as hell can I just fold my legions of villainy into yours and conquer while you do all the boring administrator stuff?

Seeing the after glow of the Big Bang looking like a ball reminded me of the end of Men in Black. So it is true after all. We're all in gigantic fucking marbles.

Sure but first we have to find ourselves some legions of villainy. Preferably ones that resemble Warhammer 40k's Space marines.

So wait....
It takes about 13.7 billion years for the light from the Earth to reach the edge of the known universe?
So creatures that potentially live there and have insane telescopes wouldn't be able to see our planet because it's light hasn't reached them yet?
Meaning we're invisible?
Mind blown and broken.

Does more space mean more chance of the existence of aliens? Or dragons? Or Cthulhu?
Cthulhu does exist...he live in everyones heart...lol but...as far as i can see..beyond this ball we are in...yeah invisible
