I would love to see a return to Firefly, but no more Mal or the crew. I'd want to see a new crew, or even somebody from the alliance so we could explore the universe some more.

FUCKING YOUNG JUSTICE.

With the shape DC comics is right now, it's be nice to have the greatest cartoon they've ever made at least get a satisfying conclusion. I just... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH.

The DC universe has NEVER been done better, and it's PAINFUL that it didn't last longer. FUCK Cartoon Network.

You forgot about the amazing series Young Justice.. cancelled for Teen Titans Go? WTF?

This is about the only way I'd accept a show "coming back". I've never seen a show that successfully recaptured the magic it had after it had been canceled and resurrected. Plenty have tried, but it just isn't the same, and ultimately just leads to disappointment and in the worst cases, actually taints the legacy of the original show.

However, starting an entirely new show in an existing beloved universe could work, especially if it's from a new perspective. I would definitely watch a show that follows Jubal Early (to me, the most interesting character in Firefly) and maybe other Alliance special operatives.

I want more of the Hollowmen.

I rather doubt many people here have heard of it though. Mostly because it was an Australian show that was never exactly ubiquitously popular.

Still, it was awesome. It was about advisers working for the Australian government. Their main brief was just to keep the government popular. Really intelligent and funny, with a lot of watching characters try to reconcile what the public wants with what is actually good for the public and what the government is actually capable of delivering on. They got two seasons of six episodes each.

Heh. Speaking of Australian comedy, I'd love to see more of the Strange Calls. Such delightful weirdness.

Community is the only show I really want brought back at the moment.

If I was really reaching back to the past, I might say another season of The Wire. Unlike a lot of shows, I think that they could really pull off another great season.

The Stargate shows and Tron Uprising come to mind here. Both were kinda screwed over by their respective networks, however, due to budgetary concerns. the thing is, what those budgets bought was some damn fine TV, which is something I really like, especially in an era where Honey Boo Boo and Duck Dynasty exist.

Sym-bionic titan. got cut down before its prime, since Gendy wanted to focus on his theatrical offering of "Hotel Transylvania" I can appreciate the priorities, but that show was amazing.

well theres the obvious 1 season travesty that doesnt need mentioning ;)

Stargate Universe. loved this show subtle characters and a scifi done as a straight up drama for once. was just really hitting its stride when it got axed. how did the unmitigated drek of sg get 10 seasons and this 2?

Terminator sarah connor chronicles and dolls house. both of these had pretty awefull first seasons but were getting really good by the end of the second only to get axed just as they got good.

I wanted to say Tron Uprising too, but I think I'm okay with it being ended for now until Tron 3 comes out and a new Tron show takes its place.
As long as the show and the movies all maintain canon together...and Quorra is in it, I'm happy.

They're making more.
Every season will be totally different characters and different stories.
Is it confirmed though?
It is.

"True Detective's first season will follow the the 17-year hunt for the killer with following seasons replacing the cast and story -- a similar format that FX has employed for its freshman hit American Horror Story"

Brad Pitt is rumored to be starring in season 2.

Even as a big Ed, Edd, n' Eddy fan[footnote]Why the hell hasn't there been a box set with EVERY episode of Ed, Edd, n' Eddy on it, including the movie Big Picture Show?! Fucking WHY?![/footnote], I feel like that show got the conclusion it needed through its final movie/special... So, I don't see why it should be brought back outside of a COMPLETE DVD BOX SET OF THE SERIES! (Seriously, if the PPG can get one, so should CN's [other] long-running cartoon show from that era...)

OT: How the hell could I already forget about Motorcity and Tron Uprising, especially Motorcity? Those shows didn't even get a fair chance to last that long on Disney XD...

Oh right. Connections. There should be another show like Connections [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hN7Z95cqZx0], only hosted by someone other than James Burke, despite his excellent writing and presentation. The poor guy's like 78 or something.

Just putting that out there, BBC.

Community! We were so close to getting six seasons and a movie, and for once it had seemed plausible. Season 5 had been pretty great now that Harmon was back on board, and it seemed to me like more people were talking about it and watching than before. But then, NBC axed it. Which... why?! I hope they change their minds. It isn't even too late! The cast's still around, and probably hasn't even aged too significantly in the last... two weeks.

Also, I don't know what the plan is with Arrested Development, but I really hope Netflix allows it to continue. The 4th season was pretty good, though not as great as previous seasons.

Deadwood was great, too. And they left it hanging. I'd like some resolution.

Wouldn't mind some more Futurama either.

Agree totally with the Community thing, as evidenced above. And, yeah, The Wire was always more about the game than the players. I could see a perfectly good season with some cast veterans and some newcomers. What new place do you think they could take it to, though? The police, the docks, the corners, the schools, the paper... what's next? I have my ideas, but I'm curious to know what your take on this is.

Also, welcome to the escapist!

'The Comeback,' and not just because I love it and want to see more of it, but because popular culture is desperately crying out for something like it. It ran on HBO for one season in '05-'06, the show was a LETHAL satire of the brutal and manipulative world of reality TV, and it had the power to go from tragically hilarious to heartbreaking and empathetic, at the flick of a switch. And, it was anchored by a perfectly casted Lisa Kudrow, who gave an ego-free performance as Valerie Cherish, a washed up TV star that's desperate for more time in the spotlight.

Who knows? The reason it could've been nixed early is because reality TV just wasn't popular at the time (which is something the show actually touched on), and people didn't want anything to do with it. Regardless, we lost a good one, and in our current culture, where we've just become saturated with awful reality TV, it'd fit right in. The entire series is on Youtube, and I suggest you check it out. Come on HBO! Bring this one back!
You do know that The Comeback is...coming back, right?

Anyway, the only one I can think of at the moment is Community, because I don't want to live in a world without it.

More Airmaster please! I could watch another 2 or 3 seasons of that show.

Next, they need to animate more of the Grappler Baki manga. They did only 2 seasons and there is PLENTY before and after the TV show.

Dracula. If NBC is gonna jump the horror bandwagon, they need to go all in or not at all. With their Wolfman series coming, it'd be a perfect lead-in and there would even be potential for crossovers. Otherwise I'll just start ignoring NBC the same as I do FOX because they care nothing about their audience. At least when the cable networks get a cool new show they don't leave their audience hanging after a single season. STARZ has its period dramas with Spartacus, which ran its full run even after the main actor died from cancer, DaVinci's Demons, currently in its second season, and Black Sails, which was renewed before the first season even aired. HBO shows - Game of thrones, currently in season 4, Boardwalk Empire, which will be closing after its 5th season, and True Blood, ending after a 7 season run. The reason the basic TV networks can't hold an audience is because they don't keep shows long enough to gain one. What's the point of getting invested if the show could be gone the next week?

Surviving Jack believe it or not.

By the 3rd episode we where already saying "This show is going to be canceled" and we were right. Sadly by (whatever episode we are on now) we grew to like it...and I'd like to see another season.

Funny because when they announced it was going to be canceled I was like...how can they cancel this show and leave crap like bad teacher and Trophy Wife (though trophy wife did have funny episodes)...and then they canceled both of them as well.

I'd say Heroes, but I believe it's already coming back. Even though the first season was by far the best, I still enjoyed every season of it.

Max Headroom....with modern technology, the internet etc...could be a blast to redo the show today.

Total reboot/remake of Greatest American Hero. More humor, More special effects, same concept.

If were going down reboot lane...how about redoing Buck Rodgers as well heh. Off think, Off Think.

I would love to see The Adventures of Sam and Max: Freelance Police be brought back. It only lasted for one season and I feel it should have been on longer. I am happy Telltale made those three series of games for them but I feel that ended to quickly as well.

Community is the obvious answer. I'm still seething over that cancellation.
I also wouldn't spit on an Earth 2 reboot. That show was awesome.
And if we're talking nonfiction too, Good Eats should never have ended. I know Alton Brown's started making Good Eats-esque videos on his YouTube account, but it's not the same without the crazy characters and belching sock puppets.
