We just got Blue Toad Episode 1 for free this week. I'm happy.

I think they'll give us something, like a theme, maybe.

I think a theme saying "We're sorry" could be good for laughs, but not necessary.
Really, I'm perfectly happy with PSN, and I have plenty of single player games, so I'm good.

No - PSN is property of Sony, not gamers; to add to that, I wouldn't be surprised if their EULA says they can have temporary disruptions to service, but having never read it, I wouldn't know. If it has been hacked, which is possible, then the only likely compensation is going to be going to Sony from the hackers and likely meaning the hackers will need to work till they are 510 years old, because that is how long it will take them to pay for the service they have disrupted.

Edit: If its hackers and if they catch them...

I would say yes depending on the compensation. I would like a Persona 3 and 4 for PS3 just so i can play it

Well honestly, I think it should depend if you have a PS+ membership or not. If you don't, you don't get compensated for the 3 days, because obviously, you're not paying for the service (like myself, though considering getting PS+ eventually).

If you DO have PS+, I think you should get an extra free PSN game that's published by Sony.

It was hardly meant as an argument, its a true statement. We wont recieve an so called, 'compensation' because Sony doesnt need to compensate us for anything. I didnt pay for PSN, so not being able to use if for a while isn't going to make me rage and say, "I NEEDZ ME REWARDZ!" It would be like if Facebook went down- facebook is a 'free' service. If it goes down facebook isnt going to give you five bucks when it comes back online and be like, 'sorry about the inconvenience sir.'. And I dont want to start a flame war but I think that it is ridiculous to have to pay to play online. I already bought the console, pay for the internet, and buy your damn games. Not to even mention DLC. So why should I pay $60 a year for the, 'privilige' to play online? Thats enough to actually buy ANOTHER game! In my opinion, Playstation Plus makes far more sense, I will pay extra to actually recieve something I want- not to just play online. Thats bull.

My point is if you pay for somthing monthly and it dies out for unknown reasons for an unexspected amount of time wouldnt you want compensation for it?

no, I have a sub to an SOE (sony) mmo and when that was down for a week we didn't get anything nor did I want anything (apart from answers).

I have enough sense to know things happen

I pay 60 a year for xbox live, if it goes down for more then 24 hours... Yes I'd expect a day's credit on my account something like that but per the agreement for when using xbox live it says im SOL if there's an outage.

I pay nothing for PSN so... no I don't expect anything because im not losing anything. The only one losing is sony. I planned on buying some games this weekend to play, so, no.


If you don't pay for it, you dont deserve any compensation.

Even if you do, the EULA you agreed to has a clause that states they can take it down whenever and they don't have to give you anything.

I didn't say that they owe anything. In fact my first post in this thread states that very clearly.

I said that we did pay for online services. They are covered in the cost of the system.
