In Borderlands 2 I played Krieg the Psycho quite a bit just for his dialogue, even though as a solo player his active skill is pretty ass most of the time mid game onwards.
The guy who throws, as you put it, "snakes spiders and midgets" is scarier than the damn lich king!SweetLemonTea said:I then switched to witch doctors because i thought the idea of throwing snakes, spiders and midgets at demons was hilarious.
You too, man? Glad I'm no the only one. Though, oddly enough, I went with the Mage first, then the Elf. Her quick skill with a bow, and ability to use magic, and talents for fast kicking when unarmed called to me. (It isn't something you see often, a class that can use a bow, and magic at the same time.)Johnny Novgorod said:The Sorceress from Dragon's Crown, because of this gif:
I came up with a slightly different reason for why I started off playing as an Irish man, and switched to a female with a French accent later on. He got surgery done, and the surgery brought the French side of her family out. =Dhanselthecaretaker said:Was bored one day so pretty much paid $5 during a Steam sale on Saints Row 4 for the character creation to make a hot chic in sexy clothes. Well, that's debatable but not worth keeping installed in either case lol.
wait, is this a 8-bit theater reference? I cant tell if it went super well or not at all.Kyrian007 said:Never playing D & D before or since have I ever played a cleric class. But in one game set in Forgotten Realms our GM specified that each of us had to be a cleric. We were all pretty concerned about how the game would turn out and how the balance would work.
"Four white mages... it'll never work." That's how well it went.
It was an 8-bit-theater reference as well. And both in Final Fantasy and 8-bit-theater... it winds up going super well.Ryotknife said:wait, is this a 8-bit theater reference? Also a thief can ease things for a party as well. But yes, it went pretty much exactly like you said, our GM realized early on our little band could recover from a beating very quickly. And a couple of specialty clerics and multi and dual class choices gave us plenty of options. Oh and there were 6 of us... the 4 white mage thing was just a Final Fantasy reference. Combat did take a little longer, but really it was the difference between quickly getting your head lopped off by a warrior or enduring a 6 or 7 round multi-faith priest gang mace-ing.Well, if damage is an issue, one cleric can always prestige into Malconvoker. Not having a dedicated warrior becomes a moot point when you can summon a bunch of disposable mooks on demand, which can give that dedicated warrior a run for his money in the damage department, depending on what you summon. Then add in the buff/debuff potential of 4 clerics, and anything facing you is gonna have a bad time.Depending on the game bards can be pretty OP. One was always a good addition in Black Isle's Icewind Dale.
And yeah, I know bard has a bit of a reputation as being one of the scrappy classes in 3.5, but I rather enjoy playing Jimi Hendrix inspired bard. They're quite versatile if used smartly. I've diplomanced my party out of quite a few sticky situations.
Speaking of which, I thought it was kind of cool how BM explains much later (and also explains why he says that 4 white mages line right before he casts the spell the first time) how it requires and saps the love of others to fuel such destructive power. Call me cheesy I guess.Kyrian007 said:It was an 8-bit-theater reference as well. And both in Final Fantasy and 8-bit-theater... it winds up going super well.
To keep things interesting, I gave mine green skin and workout spandex and pretended she was She-Hulk. It was especially fitting during the melee animations.hanselthecaretaker said:Was bored one day so pretty much paid $5 during a Steam sale on Saints Row 4 for the character creation to make a hot chic in sexy clothes.
