I'll probably play Skyrim during the day and MW3 at night.
That way I can be a sexy mage all day and a bro all night.

Damn Activision has some balls doing that. I don't even play Elder Scrolls games and I know that Skyrim is going to be GOTY, so why Doesn't Activision just tuck its tail between its legs and release the week after so that way everyone can be happy.

Actually if the current trends hold I think it'll probably be Battlefield 3. But the fact that Modern Warfare 3 is actually up against extremely solid competitors and a haven't even hidden the fact they're not really interested in anything new will really hurt sales. Especially since Battlefield 3 is openly gunning for its position.

MW3 is a console FPS, so I would of course not buy it.
I am not sure if I will buy Skyrim. I might, but I will wait a little bit, and see what people are saying about it. Most importantly, about how well the side quests are written, and how immersive the game is.

I'm not going to buy Modern Warfare 3, my brother will, and I'll probably play its campaign 3 or so times over the course of several months.

Skyrim is going to be a day one buy, and I will lock myself inside with my PS3 and play that game until my eyes gush torrents of blood. Then I will wipe my eyes and continue.

I'm buying Modern Warfare 3 almost definitely, probably Skyrim (once I get over MW3) if I like the feel of the game engine, and then Battlefield 3 if I like the feel of the game engine. I can't play on the Oblivion engine and Frostbite engine very well, it just feels strange for me.

Skyrim; quite interested to see how Bethesda has developed 5 years after Oblivion and after taking on another developer's former IP (Fallout) in the mean time.

MW3 on the other hand: my guess is that they'll only have minor changes in this upcoming cash-in. Some new guns, a minor graphical upgrade, some new vehicle chase sequence, etc. etc. etc. Admittedly biased, but admittedly no interest either.

Skyrim all the way for me. Despite my hate for the former use of the gamebryo engine and some mechanics choices, I think Bethesda still has some creativity and artistic integrity left in them that Activision and the folks behind the COD series do not and never had.

Probably neither on release date, I'm sure I'll have other games still keeping me busy at that time anyways. But I think I'll get a hold of MW3 first, just to finish the campaign once and thats it (most likely a rental). Skyrim I'll probably get when the price comes down a bit and some of the bugs have been ironed out, Oblivion was a bit messy for me. But I'm 9,999% more excited about Skyrim, I'll tell you that much. I think the screenshots of the new, revamped character models really sold me (my main pet peeve with Oblivion was how....UGLY everybody looked)

why would anyone even care about yet another cod game which come out twice a year and rarely change the formula when skyrim and battlefield 3 are coming out at the same time?

blind fanboys I suppose.

I'll buy Skyrim. Elder Scrolls games simply have a lot more hours in them than a shooter.

MW3 will be the same rehashed Bullc**p that they do every 9 months or so. I want it to fail. I want it to fall flat on it's ugly, recycled face... I don't want to spend another year of my optional education hearing "Bro... 10th prestige last night!! shame my c**k is small... I'll just take out my pent up rage on a game that hasn't changed in the last 4 years."

On a much cheerier note, I will probably get Skyrim on PC and Xbox.
PC - because I just got a new graphics card and I want to see if it comes close to Crysis 2 in Ultra settings in HD
Xbox - I find achievements are nice for replayability... I don't play online with my Xbox so it's just for personal entertain (Unlike some of my friends "LOL MY GAMER SCORE REACHED 50,000 THIS WEEKEND!" that wasn't even an exaggeration.")

Skyrim I'm going to wait on until it goes down in price, and I get a better video card(I'm normally not a PC gamer, but I'd rather get it on PC because of mods). Modern Warfare 3 can rot for all I care.

There are way too many games coming out that I want, but right now the only game on my definitely buying list is the Mass Effect 3: Collector's edition.

There is 0 competiton. Same-old gritty shooter that I can get anywhere else under fifty names (and probably already own five identical games) or an amazingly intricate RPG which, admittedly, has many bugs, but contains 300+ hours of play with complete freedom, immersive stories, and an amazing modding community.

I actually didn't even know that MW3 was coming out that month... I was under the impression that even amongst hardcore FPS fans, MW3 isn't that big a deal.
