MW3... no I sunk a lot of gametime into MW2 but I got bored and never bothered with BLOPS. Brown generic shooters just don't entertain me anymore. Skyrim on the otherhand... It comes out the same day as minecraft which is also the first day of my exam period. FML D:

MW3 vs Skyrim?
Skyrim, no contest, and I'm surprised you haven't included Battlefield 3 as part of this.

MW3 will get rented once I'm bored of both Battlefield and Skyrim... Probably quite a while xD

Edit: And Minecraft... God that is going to be an awesome week

Do I really need to answer this? COD isn't bad but every game in the franschise is a little bit too similar for my liking and seems to have been steadily declining both in the single player department and in the balancing of multiplayer. Also, there's a new COD game EVERY year but it's been a good few years since Oblivion so I've been jonesing for some more ES. Skyrim will probably be the only other game I buy this year and it should keep me occupied for a long time to come. I can't wait.

The point is its track record (every game after mw being exactly the damn same. The recent history of the company (yeah IW exploded last year remember, taking over half its senior staff with it). Coupled with being a hodgepodge between 3 dev teams you have all the ingredients of an incoherent and meh experience.
Every game after MW? What, you mean MW2? Don't forget, Infinity Ward did MW1&2, World at War and Black Ops are Treyarch titles - totally different developers. Don't get the two mixed up.

Look, taking the MW series on Infinity Ward's merits: MW was a vastly popular and (at the time) revolutionary game than was let down by a bad sequel. But let's look at TES: Many fans of the earlier titles (myself included) felt that Oblivion was an equal let down to that series. So what I'm saying is that with Skyrim and MW3 we have two games following up two popular series' whose last installments were both hugely popular with new fans yet disappointing to series veterans.

I'm not saying MW3 is going to be a golden ray of sunshine that will set the industry as we know it ablaze with innovation, but I'm not prepared to trash it before we can at least see what we're dealing with (unlike 90% of the people in this thread). Basically I'm reserving judgement.

And whilst I'm really looking forward to Skyrim, after what happened to the series with Oblivion, you'd better believe I'm holding judgement on that one too.

I'll buy Skyrim as soon as I can, seeing as there are some other games to get and that I'm not that rich. I'll get MW3 as an April Fools Day present for someone, after telling them I've gotten them a good game. But only after the price has gone down. And if I get serious brain damage. And if I really fucking hate that person.

If I can be bothered I'll probably get MW3, complete it in a day and not touch it again except to play with my brother or friends. I learned a long time ago to avoid the multiplayer like the plague though.

Anyway, MW3 comes out 3 days before Skyrim in the UK I believe, so I'll have that finished in time for Skyrim, which I think is going to be absolutely fantastic.
if your going to do that rent it?
Then buy bf3 with the money saved and have a slightly different game in your library, Just a suggestion.
That's what I'm probably going to do. I'm not sure if I'll get Bf3 yet. My brother and friend will definitely get it so I'll see how it is with them. If I do get it it won't be for a while because I'll be so occupied with Skyrim.

Skyrim without contest, MW3 is getting boring so I'm scowering for other sources of fun. I've bought DLC for MW2 and BLops and it annoys me that they've become redundant already -_-

SKYRIM
I'm actually one of those people that still like COD, but no way is it anywhere close to levels of Awesomeness (measured in "Awesmos") as Elder Scrolls.
Seriously the Awesmos of Skyrim are predicted to be of the chart.

and the chart goes all the way up to 770 MegaAwesmos.

No, I don't know what I'm talking about either.

CoDs from iw don't tickle me anymore ... Treyarch knows how to put bells and whistles on their games. As for Skyrim, hell yea. Also BF3 ... I need to start a list like I did last yr.
