Uh...so, they were able to come up with Killcams for Magic, but they couldn't think of Dragon Mounts?
OP kinda missed the most interesting part of this being the video:

Todd Howard sums it up better than me but essentially, they gave the employees a week to throw their own personal ideas into the game, and then made a video of some of the highlights.

The result is actually quite amazing.

"Adoption of children"? Can me and my wife just make our own? *wink wink*

Anyway, those sound cool. Especially polearms! An issue oft-overlooked in games.

Oh, another thing I want. Fletching. I want to make my own arrows!

They need to like, put that all in. Seriously, all that stuff ruled.

It'd also rule if they let spears and shields be used together. Spartan, woo!

These are cool and all, but nothing I would pay any money for. Half of it isn't even DLC material - I mean having to buy DLC just so that water acts how it's meant to and Candlelight is actually useful? Give me a break.

So... basically nothing to give the game any depth. Yep, typical Bethesda. Keep piling on crap.

I would probably pay for Goblins. I really liked how they were implemented in Oblivion. It'd be cool to see them in Skyrim becoming even more sophisticated than they were there. An interesting dichotomy with the Falmer.

Fletching, Seasonal Foliage, and new weapon types would also not be offensive to me, if it takes a micro-transaction model, and has everything available for 80 MSP.

They need to make this real:

More on-topic:

they said they wanted to move away from small-scale DLC and do expansion content instead, im really hoping they stick to that and these little things either get added in with expansions or just patched into the game free of charge, not like modders wouldn't be able to do these things anyway.

I think the one thing I might consider spending money on is if they added lots and I mean LOTS more creatures into the game, Skyrim is a bit low on the monster count.

Nothing in that is interesting.....just sounds like a list of stiff they forgot to put into the game instead of new stuff.

Yeah, they said (paraphrasing) "you MIGHT see elements of these in future DLC, or these might serve as a basis for some, we don't know yet".

They just gave their staff a week to piss about to get some creative juices flowing; your title is pretty misleading.

I like that they aren't afraid to give some power to the modders however i would also like to see some of the more stable mods on my xbox. even if it were like 80-200 xbox points each or something small like that i would pay it for some official mods.

Very interesting.

They should just release those over the Workshop and that would be awesome.
Horse Combat? YES PLEASE.

My God that all needs to be officially added to the game or the guys at bethesda have got to let the modders know how they did all that.

I'd be willing to buy this DLC if they packed it (water/fire/ice arrows, spears and giant mud crabs for example)

but to be honest some good DLC could get me back into my game. after my character lost half his stuff in some weird glitch I kinda lost interest. I'd be willing to start the game again with some decent DLC.

(in reference to bold)Easy error, I make it myself at times.

I kinda agree. These things seem more like game mechanics/mods than typical DLC, you know, skins, new weapons and new dungeons etc.. I am hoping that some of this stuff is free. I would not pay for enhanced water visuals.

This definitely seems like a thing for consoles though, who don't have access to mods. This stuff has already been done by modders for the PC version. And if it hasn't been done yet, it will be soon.
Why aren't all Spelling police as nice as you? I even learnt something.

I get these things will mainly be aimed at console, after all why would any PC user pay for something they can get for free, and will likely be more stable and well put together?
Still for me that only compounds the problems of Skyrim even more, even if they are slipped into fuller DLC's with extended story the core principle I have issue with remains unchanged. Maybe I'm just being unreasonable, I have many reason for my sudden bias against Bethesda now, frankly the handling of PR did nothing to help. I said it before though DLC would either need to be too large or too broken up to slide into existing parts to actually repair problems with the game. It was a massive mistake to get it on console and on release but I thought at least the content there would be fairly flowing and full, and bugs they learnt existed in the engine and had fixed previously wouldn't be present again.

Anyway that is probally enough for you to correct and bordering off topic. But for me Bethesda's image has been irrevokably changed and the ideas behind DLC has only proved that, whether they be part of something larger or even free patches to consoles, to me it just shows the game up as incomplete, more sandbox for modders and bug fixers then a sandbox game.

Problem A: How in the world do you announce an idea?

Problem B: All of that stuff was from Bethesda's Game Jam week, with the theme being that whatever is created must be put into Skyrim. Absolutely NONE of those things are "Officially" being considered for DLC; they're just little side-projects that small teams from Bethesda worked on.

Kill cams for magic
Water arrows
Giant mud crabs
Paralysis runes
Seasonal foliage
Speedy water currents
Dark dungeons
Advanced home building
Epic new mounts
Enhanced water visuals
Ice and fire arrows
Lycanthrope perk tree
Goblins
I'd take all of these, no questions asked, especially dark dungeons.
Honestly I would be happy with just kinect for shouts :D Just shouting at 3am in suburbia will create more dangerous and exciting gameplay

"Dark Dungeons"

Well, I already downloaded the light fix. Makes the game waaaay more atmospheric.

"Seasonal Foliage"

If they mean as you play, the colors change, then that's pretty cool. As it is, though, you can download mods to change the foliage from summer to fall or various types of colors.

"Advanced Home Building"

That sounds epic.

All of those things that are listed sound like something some random group of modders could create in less than a week. I can't imagine them being released on consoles in separate DLCs for a price or else it will be Horse Armour all over again.

I also fail to see how some of those are "experiments" if they've already been featured/created (by modders) before.
And most of those ideas have already been modded into the game.
