I dint like it... Dont get me worng i play it and found it decent but noffing special. Its overhyped in my opinon.

And before you sods out there start russing trypeing things like

''Dont juge the game before the 20 hour mark'' or somting like that its worth rembering that i can in 3 hours playing somting like Castlevaina OOC and enyoing my self vile i play skyrim for 3 hoursand found it lacking

Over Hyped? You've played it and you didn't like it. Products get Over Hyped when the developers depend on the first day launch and the name of title, before word gets out that it's a crap game. Like Kane and lynch.
Here? The overwhelming majority of the players love it. I love it. I want to be Skyrims' ***** if only I wasn't tied down to the real world.

OP should have said over-hyped with blind fans who would enjoy it regardless of quality.

The graphics are terrible. The controls are poor, the game is buggy and the levelling has been dumbed down a huge amount. And it still has less freedom then Morrowind. The game is completely over hyped because sites know that people would pre-order it regardless of quality.

Graphics look nice. The controls take time to get used to because they designed it for the console but after an hour I mastered it. Game has bugs like any other, didn't notice it.
The difference in leveling here is that there is no preference to skills here. Your Health/Magika/Stamina levels start the same and it is YOU that chooses what to upgrade depending on your play style and not your previous decisions like race, sign etc. , in my opinion it's an improvement.
I'm not sure about the freedom part though.

It's hyped because a lot of people are excited by it, people with different taste in games than yours. It would be overhyped if people didn't give a shit about it and the media still advertise it like the second comming of christ.

OT: No. The game hasn't experienced any major backlash for not being as good as it thinks it is. Duke Nukem Forever is overhyped. Daikatana is overhyped. Skyrim is not.

Apparently you also find the English language overhyped.

Comparing a slow boil open world sandbox MMO to Castle-freakin'-vania might be the first sign that your expectations are more than slightly out of whack. I had more fun with 5 minutes of Peggle than Total War: Medieval 2! Peggle is the superior game in all aspects! See how that works? Compare oranges to oranges, please.

At the end of the day, courses for horses. I don't care for certain games and certain genres. Doesn't make them bad, or overhyped. A lot of people on this forum, and in the world in general, would do well to remember that their personal likes and dislikes are not the gold standard by which all entertainment must be judged.

All my friends were fired up fo Hangover 2, they set themselves expetations that weren't reached n were very disappointed.
Were as I thought theres no way it could be as good as the original (which it want) and would be awful. when I got round to watching it, with no high expectations, I actually enjoyed it

Calm down. You're the one throwing a tantrum. Your incredible defensiveness suggests that you feel lacking in some way, and are overcompensating. You have doubts about yourself, doubts that you suppress, and when others suggest them you react with force. You need to confront your internal issues, or learn to stop being so destructive. If you act like this in real life, you could end up with no friends.

What I have played of this game, I did at my boyfriend's house. Suffice to say (if I'm using that correctly), I was bad. Really bad. I played Oblivion, and modded the hell out of that game. I sometimes used godmode to test things, such as weapons and mods I made to make sure they worked, and I couldn't die if they didn't. He had a khajiit, level 2, he had just created.

He wanted to check out some of the scenery, so he ran to the nearest mountain and climbed all the way to the top. I, mostly using godmode since I've beaten Oblivion hundreds of times, thought it would be fun to see how fast I could reach the ground. I jumped off, and BOOM! Smashed into a jutting rock and died. Both heartbreaking and funny.

He was nice enough to let me try again. I ran through the forrest, killing wolves and the occasional mudcrab near the water's edge. Then the music changed, and I was set ablaze by a dragon I had somehow failed to notice. I began pelting it with lightning bolts, and once again failed to notice the impending doom sneaking up behind me.

GGLLAAAHHHH!!!! exclaimed the khajiit as he was attacked from behind by a wolf I had failed to kill. Noticed the word FAIL pops up several times. I died from massive bleeding and dragon breath. Not so much funny as it was enraging. He didn't let me play again.

I am broke, so my dad said "Well, I'll buy it for you. Hell, I'll even pay to get you a brand new computer." But that loser said I have to wait until Christmas to get them! GGGGRRRRR!!! At least it's the Collectors Edition and the Strategy Guide. That way I'll have something to read while it installs, then something to throw aside to make way for DRAGONS!

as for the actual marketing, I'm gonna say no, not over hyped at all, since, they don't need to push the game to sell it, its an elder scrolls game, if i came on here with solid proof of a new elder scrolls game, i guarantee, 90% of the people on this forum would cream them selves.
