I think they said that you'd be able to create mods with the PC tools and then use them on the PC and the PS3.

Not on a console thats for sure. Given the age and capability of your average Xbox target market, it could be the most limited mod community ever. If these people owned a decent PC they wouldnt bother playing games on an xbox in the first place I would guess.

I seriously doubt Microsoft would ever allow modded content. Its against everything they stand for. Free, open and replayable. Not likely.
I think you messed up the quote... I didn't say that.

PS3 because, upon attempting to load it up on my computer, it would make a loud screaming noise before shaking and imploding.

Seriously, when I get my free copy of ME2 because I got DA2 the gameplay was yellow. That was it. It played, but everything was yellow. You could kind of see the flames as a different shade of yellow if you looked at them right.

I'm thinking PS3, my computer can probably handle it, but it's sure as hell not going do to so perfectly, and I'd much prefer the more seamless experience of just popping it into a console and going at it.

As for why PS3 over 360, I find the PS3 starts to show it's strength these days in the more demanding games. Hell, even Oblivion handled better on PS3.

Well in your case I would say ps3 because that?s your best gaming platform yet if you have the money to spend go out and buy yourself a gaming pc why cause they are just better I?m not going to say how but they are for me I have a gaming rig so I?ll be playing Skyrim on that on ultra high settings which is nerd eye candy.

Edit: Misread the OP

But the obvious choice is to go with the PS3, but..... Wouldnt it also be an opportune time to maybe build a new gaming rig? c'mon... it'll be fun...

I'm upgrading my computer when I get paid tomorrow. It should be more than capable of playing Skyrim with no issues, so PC version for sure.

I'd say PS3. Your PS3 is guaranteed to run it, and mod support is extremely overrated.

QUESTION 2.

Should I rent (gamefly so no time constraint) play my heart out, then wait for GOTY edition?

Worked great in Fallout 3. When I got GOTY it was a year later so game was fresh, PLUS 5 dlcs made it a basicly whole new game...

I think it will depend on this ps3 mod support. If they can set it up so every mod can be installed on ps3, It must be an immediate buy. But dlcs add up...

I'm torn on this decision as well. I assume a purchase through Steam will be cheaper than a PS3 console purchase and so I'm likely to go PC.

Then again, if the game comes out with some nice pre-order bonuses on the PS3, I'll pay the extra $10.00 or so to play it on the big screen with some possible extra's that I may not have gotten from Steam. For what it's worth, I'm assuming steam will package the games pre-order with GOTY version of Oblivion (which I already own), so that wont be of use to me.

I say go with the PS3 version first. That way you have the game and can play it at best quality. Then when you have a little extra money you can get it for the PC. It will take some time after release for the really good mods to come around anyway.

PC. Its very simple to hook up a laptop or tower to your TV. Plus you have the full mod support, which in my opinion, made Morrowind, Oblivion, Fallout 3, and New Vegas, MUCH more better. I didn't even like the premise of the TES or Fallout games, but because they're so moddable, I was able to turn them into something that suit me perfectly.

If so, you can just output the game onto your giant TV :)

That's how I do it anyway.
Yea, that's what I do... when I have the place to myself.
I was going to get this for the PC. Now I hear the PC version will be ported over from the console version, so I'm probably not going to get it.
I was expecting it to be a mess to begin with on account of the new engine they have to work the bugs out of. But if this is also their first title made for the consoles primarily, it's going to be a disaster of near New Vegasian proportions.

Considering I'm going to be receiving a reasonably beasty PC around the time of Skyrim's release, which is totally coincidental, I'm going to be playing it on that. I was considering getting it for my Xbox, but I like to get immersed in these kind of games, which is pretty difficult for me to do from two metres away when I can still see the rest of the room around the game. But yeah, the mods were also a big reason for me choosing PC over Xbox in this case, although from the looks of Skyrim it's going to be a relatively long time before I install any.

What?

Well, I'm definitely getting it for the PS3. ( I certainly hope that this is true)

Anyways: If the "PS3 Mods" thing is true, get it for the PS3.

I'm gonna hold out on deciding until I know whether or not 360 will get mod support. On the one hand, I prefer most games, Bethesda included, with the console controller. And the dual bumper thing seems sweet.

On the other hand, I want a spear mod so I can make Odin.

Yeah, I read that article!

I really hope that consoles will get mods for Skyrim.

The computer that I play games on is too much of a piece of shit to play Oblivion, and when I played Morrowind, I never really got into mods.

Skyrim sounds pretty good so far. I'll definitely be pre-ordering it during summer vacation!

I'd choose PC, but I'm not sure if my laptop could handle it... so I guess I'll have to get it on XBox.

PC, like a boss.

Also: jaggies on the consoles can be bad enough, but on your 65" TV in an open-world game?

*shudder*

Consoles were the lead for Oblivion and FO3.
