Thank you all for this fantastic thread. I can't point out all the individual posts that made me laugh but this is one of the funniest threads I've come across for a while. :) KEEP IT UP.

I'm almost nervous now about picking up my first companion, wondering what method of death they will meet if and when their time comes. Lydia sounds like the Skyrim equivalent of the Fan!

R.I.P. Horse, I thought you could survive the drop off the cliff

No one else has died cause I don't take anyone with me, they steal my kills.

Though it has been funny to read all the ways that lydia and stray dogs have died

RIP
My horsie. You brave horse, I swear you had the soul of Leeroy Jenkins because you, instead of waiting outside, ran into the bandit infested keep and jump up onto the wall and started kicking the crap out of people.

And then you die when you do no more than touch a stationery boulder on the path when we're walking in safety. Just fell over and died. Maybe had an aneurysm?

RIP nobody.

But I suppose I few feral werewolves I've killed USED to be in the companions. RIP to them?

R.I.P Lydia,
I'm sorry that I used you as dragon-bait, but you were just so good at it...

R.I.P Folkas - fellow Companion/Werewolf, and now, house-husband (after reloading)
Killed just outside Riften in a freak dragon attack, we were on our way to the wedding...

Lydia, have absolutely no idea where the hell you are, presumed dead.
I want my silver back.
Hhahahahaahahaha...ooh ..yes

I have been been forced to load older savegames like crazy just because she gets lost somewhere, maybe she has an intense sexual attraction to draugrs, I don't know, BUT I'M NOT LETTING YOU RUN AWAY WITH MY DRAGON BONES YOU HEAR ME??

Lydia got swarmed by those Goblin things, Fulmer I think.
I spent ages waiting for her to follow only to find her dead under a pile of corpses.

RIP Lydia - i wanted to know if that fall from that mountain top would kill you, It would...but at least take comfort in the fact that you died for science!

From this thread alone, I'm leaving Lydia at home now.
Yeah, I haven't taken her out once. I don't think I plan to ever really take any companions out. I escorted Maurice to the tree, and keeping him alive was an absolute nightmare (though I'm glad I did, because it turns out he's kind of important to that quest.)

Lydia doesn't sound like a very good housecarl. So she stays at home sitting on a chair in my bedroom watching my wife sleep.

RIP Stray Dog

Your bravery is commendable. However, bravery does not make it possible to withstand a cannon shell to the face.

Your soloing against dragons will be missed. Your incessant yapping when sneaking, will not.

If anybody has any information regarding the whereabouts of Lydia; a Nordic woman from Whiterun, please come forward. She was last seen around Eldersblood Peak and her husband/traveling companion miss her very much.

R.I.P. Erik the Slayer

I raised you from farm hand to badass mercenary, and you died in service to the Imperial Legion.

I tore up Stormcloak and Imperial alike in that fort as a werewolf for you buddy...

Also, while not a companion...

Alvor died charging a Blood Dragon with his blacksmith tools when it attacked Riverwood. I was too late...

Killed the crap out of that dragon, and then did everything I could to try and resurrect the brave man but, I could only do so much...
