I kind of have to agree. While I still think the dragons are quite tough, I fought one recently who was distracted by a mammoth. The mammoth held his own, and it pretty much did most of the work in killing it.devotedsniper said:To be honest i find the dragons easier to kill than trolls, giants, overlord draugs (this was a real fun battle...running round in circles after you disarmed me...my magic ain't the greatest...) etc and that's on the medium settings, i thought the dragons were meant to be badass? All it takes is 6-7 shots with my bow to kill them.
The answer to this statement is "no." You do not suck.DarkRyter said:Dammit.
I thought the game was hard. I just suck, apparently.
I've died a lot too, but I actually haven't been killed by a dragon yet - the only way I survived the first encounter was running up to the top of the tower and running back down when it targeted me. Actually, every time I've died it's been because of those stupid giants. I quickly learned to sprint my archer ass past those things.Hunter65416 said:Ive actually died a lot compared to oblivion, maybe its just because i suck or i was ill-prepared but it took me 3 times to kill the first dragon
Yeah, OP is just pouring all his level up points into "Bash Skull In" perks. Sorry, but archery really isn't exactly hard in Skyrim - the dragons are some of the least difficult enemies. They're one of the few that seem to progress level-wise with you (since you're expected to kill one rather early on), so saying that they're difficult because you have to shoot them just proves you're bad at the game mechanics beyond "aim sword and mash button to hack limbs off".Kyle1527 said:...and dragons since you have to shoot them down.
I had a dragon land in the middle of the mage's college earlier...I just stood there and got a free soul...scorptatious said:I kind of have to agree. Can't wait for the day I get to fight and kill one legitimately...
I dunno, I've found the dragons to be fairly easy. What really shits me is that I can cleave my way through a dragon no problem, but I'll get my ass handed to me on a platter by almost any magic-user.Witty Name Here said:I'm fine with the finishers, what drives me crazy are the dragon encounters, those things are pretty tough, the worst part was after an ESPECIALLY brutal mission (I wont spoil anything, let's just say it involves "Northwatch Hold" and the Greymanes, you'll probably get it if you know those two) A dragon spawned right outside the place, it was in an isolated part of Skyrim so I could either, outrun the dragon or pray to the Nine that a few NPCs would come along to help me fight the thing.captaincabbage said:I know what you mean man, I've been fucked over far too many times for my liking so far in Skyrim. Especially those fucking finishing moves. I hate it SO MUCH that enemies can perform finishers on you when you're on low health, it's just fucked. Hey Bethesda, I DON'T LIKE BEING STABBED IN THE GUTS REPEATEDLY.
Well I got my hands on an enchanted Orc dagger and an Elven dagger, so I use them. I didn't bother using daggers until I had them, the steel and iron ones didn't seem to be useful. I don't use them all the time either, only when I'm sneaking around. Most of the time I have a fine Blades sword and healing combo on the go, so daggers aren't a massive focus unless the situation calls for it.Rednog said:I don't know how you're using them effectively, I have two steel daggers, and I've pretty much just been spamming both mouse buttons to do the cross cut and then using the power attack with both, I seem to kill most human characters, but I end up having only a silver of health left because you really can't seem to do anything about defense with daggers. Especially with being sneak and forced to wear light armor, its somewhat hard having to split points between stealth, one handed, and archery. Whereas my second character I just went 2handed and archery and I'm just steam rolling people left and right.
And with daggers I'm having an insanely hard time to attack the bigger enemies, especially ones you really can't sneak up on, without that sneak attack bonus I get flattened damn near instantly. Like the werewolf encounter, when I got him to a sliver of his health I couldn't do enough damage with the daggers to beat his self heal, I had to switch to fire magic for both hands to take him out.
Same here. The first story dragon was very hard, particularly as I decided to charge straight at the beast without support and was promptly barbecued and carved to pieces. Every other dragon though has been strangely easy, causing me to suspect that they aren't scaling correctly to my level. They're still fun to fight though, and can get very tense if they attack a populated area. I have a something of a hero complex in games like this, and I absolutely must save everyone.captaincabbage said:I dunno, I've found the dragons to be fairly easy. And I guess I hate those finishers because you'll still have a bit of health left that you could have used fighting, but it's all just taken out in a very in-your-face style, that seems to beckon "Well well, looks like you just suck, amiright?"
How did you not know you're playing on Master? You start as "Adept" and you have to manually change it (well, at least on PS3 so I'm assuming here). Did you change it and then forgot that you have done so?Kyle1527 said:I didn't even know I was playing on Master until I checked - I heard the difficulty was dynamic so I didn't bother, but when I did I found out I was on Master. The thing is, if you can one shot an enemy with a great sword; you can pretty much kill everything in less than 10 swings - just depends how well your armour protects you. I use full superior wolf plate, which is pretty decent - I have no upgrades in the heavy armour tree. I pretty much kill everything that has poison with a bow or spells.
I have recorded all my Skyrim adventures for my let's play, and I will be uploading them to YouTube. I really don't understand why you think I'm a troll...do you think it's not possible to do this stuff - yes Ice Wolves can tear me apart...but only if there's more than one. By the way, I put points into different skill trees such as smithing, destruction, restoration, archery and heavy armour...but the most effective thing I use is Wuuthrad because it does 58 base damage.Mimsofthedawg said:trololololol.Kyle1527 said:So I've played the game for about ten hours now, finished the Companions questline and most of the main quests. I've been playing on Master difficulty since the start and I can pretty much one shot all common enemies. The only enemies that are challenging are Chauruses because of the poison and dragons since you have to shoot them down.. So anyway, anyone else think Skyrim is too easy even on the hardest difficulty?
If anyone wants to know, I play a level 14 two handed nord, who uses Wuuthrad/Skyforged Greatswords.
Primarily because the feats you claim to have accomplished aren't possible.
But then again, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. I'll ASSUME that you're right and you have done this on master difficulty (which I know's not possible at such a low level because a pack of Ice Wolves have killed me in just a couple hits and I have a similar character). You're doing nothing here but bragging. To the average gamer, what you've accomplished is incredible. So yes, let's say you have - you are still the definition of a troll based on you condescending tone nad you're obvious appeal at an emotional response.
I personally am very pleased with the game... and almost think it might be unbalanced, favoring the NPCs.
But that's a welcome challenge for me.
Though I don't know why I've been feeding so many trolls lately... I think this will be the last one. My troll treats are running low.
EDIT: becareful how you respond. you will either illicit laughter by confirming I'm right and that you're nothing more than a troll, or a solemn nod that you are a masterful gamer, but who's point is not applicable to the average person.
My difficulty was automatically set on Master. I think that it might check for previous achievements or saves or something. I have full gamerscore in Oblivion and Fallout 3+NV so maybe it checks them or something.Jack Rascal said:How did you not know you're playing on Master? I've level up now a little and the game is fine. It's not too easy nor too difficult. I'm not foolish enough to try playing it on Master though. I favour bows and sneaking, but I'll leave the giants be for now![]()
