You mean that part that looks like it's part of a cutscene? How about you look at some NON cutscene, NON cherry picked for a trailer combat?SirBryghtside said:[

Look at the axe, and look at the Draugr.
Are you seriously trying to tell me that there's no hit reaction? Plus, combat does feel great, at least for me.
i don't think you have to worry about this too much, from what i gathered they seem to be treated like "gems", i suppose you'll meet your first dragon pretty late in the game, and they'll be relatively rare, meeting them will be an event, like "WOW, OMG, A DRAGON!", not a casual/regular thing?Sjakie said:I dont want to stop and fight a dragon every ingame kilometer travelled either.
Im fairly oke with avoiding the occasional dragon by going around it, but it would be a bit of a problem if im not using fasttravel and i really need to get to a town to sell my loot.easternflame said:/snip
2 things on this point, 1st, you can decline a fight with a dragon, if you see one and it sees you, you turn and leave or proceed and attack. Also, in one of those 3 hour hands on previews I read that there is a Caravan fast travel system, that is amazing because you pay 20 gold and it takes you to your destination, so it keeps the system immersive.Sjakie said:Since im not planning on using the fasttravel (to much) I dont want to stop and fight a dragon every ingame kilometer travelled either.
Let us hope, it's the best installment in the series. See you in 3 weeks forum.
Nice to see someone else picking this up.RagTagBand said:You mean that part that looks like it's part of a cutscene? How about you look at some NON cutscene, NON cherry picked for a trailer combat?SirBryghtside said:[

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZvgqXz35Tjs like this for example
Sliced in the neck by a sword? No reaction.
Hit by an arrow? No reaction.
Hit by multiple bursts of electrical magic? No reaction.
at 1:34? My infamous LOOK MA IM SLIDING failure of a mechanic.
The combat looks better than it does in Oblivion, but it still has plenty of shittiness for everyone.
I think that was just caused by the limitations of the horrible GameBryo engine. Hopefully the unique race appearances are a good sign.Sjakie said:Less then promissed weirdness [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/108446-Skyrim-Will-Be-Weird-Like-Morrowind] is one of the things that im slightly worried about. Oblivion was a good game, but in whole it felt too much as 'generic fantasy'. It's a matter of taste, lets leave it at that.
