Well, it's true. If I had a Wii, I'd probably play the Zelda games, some Mario games, DK, maybe Metroid and Monster Hunter. And Smash Bros, of course. But that's about it. And considering the system has been around for a long time, it's kinda sad to see there's like less than a dozen good games for the Wii. On the other hand, I can't even begin to list all my PS3 games, games that go from RPGs to Driving to Puzzles to Button smashers to Shooters and so on. The Wii is fine but it doesn't attract me as much as all the things my PS3 has to offer.sandman10 said:Although it's true the Wii doesn't exactly have a deep catalogue, there are some great games that might interest you in a Wii.
Mario Galaxy 1 and especially 2, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Metroid Prime 3, and Monster Hunter Tri are probably my favorites. There aren't a ton but you can't really get these experiences on another console, which leads me to play my Wii more than my PS3.
To be fair I sold my Wii a couple years ago then bought another when more of its elite games came out.
Yeah, there's plenty of good games coming out soon...and 90% of them are not coming out for the Wii. As it is, I have like 5 games I need to finish playing and I already preordered Batman and AC:R. You make a good point; I might just hang on to my Zelda LE to see how much profit I can get out of it.OutrageousEmu said:Well, you could remember the huge numbers of awesome games coming to the other platforms at the same time. I doub you'd have time to get a Wii and play this, so that leaves out much reason to.
You could play Wind Waker's New game +, in which Link gets an "invisible" tunic that just leaves him in the clothes he starts the game with. And it DOES change dialogue in the game! Wind Waker is the only Zelda game I know of that allows you to spend the entire game with no green tunic at all.chif-ii said:Okay. I wonder if they'll ever reach a point where they put you in green for a reason other than "shut up, all the past heroes wore green and THEY didn't complain, deal with it".Scrustle said:This game is supposed to be the earliest Zelda in the series, apart from maybe the Four Swords trilogy (Four Swords, Four Swords Adventures and Minish Cap), but their placement in the timeline is fairly ambiguous so that one is up for debate.chif-ii said:Eh, true. Some iterations of the story give her magic powers (Spirit tracks and Minish cap stick in my mind), so...okay, I can swallow that.
...Wait, is this BEFORE OoT?
Wait, no, that doesn't work, OoT Link wears green because he was raised as a Kokiri. Still, gotta wonder what excuse they'll come up with to put Link in green if it's before then.
Also, if I remember correctly, isn't the original NES game supposed to be the last adventure in the "canon timeline" or something? (if one can be said to exist)
Well this time round he's wearing green because every student that graduates the knight's school he's in this time get a tunic, and each year gets a different colour. Link's year happens to have green. And I don't know why the Kokiri wear green too, but most of the Zelda games are set a huge amount of time apart from each other, except with direct sequels like Majora's Mask. So the green tunic thing could just turn in to tradition, or different races evolve different reasons to to wear the tunic, I don't know.chif-ii said:Okay. My money's on that they were just f***ing with the interview and the fanbase.Scrustle said:Well this time round he's wearing green because every student that graduates the knight's school he's in this time get a tunic, and each year gets a different colour. As for the first Zelda being the last in the time line, I'm not sure, but it is supposed to be one of the later ones. I know that much. And there apparently is an official cannon time line which is written down on a secret document on Miyamoto's or Aonuma's computer (or both) which sets it all out. One of them said that in an interview once, but there's no way of telling if they were actually telling the truth.
Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised. That or they just make it up as they go along. Like they start making a game and then half way through development they fix it so it fits in somewhere. But not all of the games fit in (like the Four Swords trilogy), and not many of them fit very neatly, so yeah, I'll believe this document thing when I see it.chif-ii said:My money's on that they were just f***ing with the interview and the fanbase.Scrustle said:And there apparently is an official cannon time line which is written down on a secret document on Miyamoto's or Aonuma's computer (or both) which sets it all out. Seriously?! Go finish that game. Right now. No, seriously, it's awesome. Do it.Vault Citizen said:Ah, I've never completed it so I didn't know.Idocreating said:End Credits sequences says "Your Uncle recovers" while showing a clip of Link and his Uncle holding their swords.Vault Citizen said:That was Link's uncle? oh god, that owl... That damn owl was even more annoying than navi. I mean at least you can ignore navi. But that owl just shows up out of nowhere and blabs completely useless information. Plus, I was really creeped out by him as a child. Heads aren't supposed to turn upside down!cthulhumythos said:gaepora aye? like... kaepora gaebora ?

anyhoo, it's nice to see more characters getting fleshed. or at least having names.
