We are in a gaming world in which AAA developers include EA and Activision.Fappy said:How the hell don't these people have jobs in the industry?

OK, more serious this time. I just jizzed everywhere.
Got the Tamriel Rebuilt mod a while ago and since I can not find an answer I will ask you, how the hell do you get to the new part, is there a boat or should I just use Icarian scrolls to launch myself to the continent.ohnoitsabear said:2. Doing this eliminates the possibility of using the many, many excellent Morrowind mods. For example, I couldn't use Tamriel Rebuilt (for those that don't know, it aims to rebuild the rest of the Morrowind province into the game, and the parts that are released so far are better than the base game) in Skywind. The mods are half of the reason to play Morrowind, and it would be tragic that people would miss out on that.
You pretty much either have to swim, teleport (using Divine Intervention scrolls in the northeastern part of Vvenderfall usually works), or use console commands. There used to be a mod that where you could pay to take a boat from Seyeda Neen, but it's not compatible with the newest versions of the mod.charge52 said:Got the Tamriel Rebuilt mod a while ago and since I can not find an answer I will ask you, how the hell do you get to the new part, is there a boat or should I just use Icarian scrolls to launch myself to the continent.ohnoitsabear said:2. Can of worms have been opened. RAAAAAAGE!!! HA!Shirastro said:And this(among other things) is why PC > Consoles.
Yes. Because when they first started Morroblivion they almost got cease and desisted out of existence because they didn't specifically require you have Morrowind installed.Drejer43 said:So people have to buy an over 10 year old game to play a mod...
Really, seriously?
There is no way to tell when the last Elder Scrolls will be. And it's far easier to port the games between the version when they only have to move one game engine up at a time, rather than trying to port from a decade old engine to a brand new one. This way is far more efficient and shows just how much people loved Morrowind. It's a good thing.EHKOS said:Question. Why not wait until the last game, and THEN put all this work in. Or maybe Bethesda will make the last game have all the locations...that would be amazing...and huge. Like...idek how many blu-rays...NOW I WANT IT!
Oh wow, this looks fantastic. Thank you for spreading the word about it, I may have never found this otherwise. I can't wait to give this a try.ohnoitsabear said:3. There is the much more ambitious, awesome, and worthy of attention project out there called OpenMW [https://openmw.org/en/], which is a completely new engine for Morrowind. It's not finished yet, but when it is, it will allow people to experience Morrowind in all it's glory with the possibility of fixing the glaring gameplay issues with it. Seriously, check it out.
Not just overhauled combat, but radiant AI gives so much life to the game world. Everybody goes about their day to day business. It also adds voice acting to Morrowind! So that's all 52'158 lines of dialogue in Morrowind will be voiced.j-e-f-f-e-r-s said:Got to be honest, I really don't see the point.
I mean, from that video, Morrowind looks like ass when ported to the Skyrim build of the Gamebryo engine. The textures are still flat and basic, the ploy count still low, and the lack of fog or mist robs everything of the Morrowidn atmosphere.
There are already countless mods which update the game to have better textures, higher poly models, better lighting and such. In fact, the latest Morrowind Visual Overhaul video on youtube looks pretty damn stunning. I don't really see what porting the game to Skyrim offers that countless visual mods haven't already done.
No they can't get cease and desisted anymore. They managed to find a work around.. with mesh and texture replacers, you haven't even read their FAQ :/Andrew_C said:Yes. They survived because they fly under the radar and they now require you have Morrowind installed to install the mod. The attention they are getting at the moment is likely to net them another swarm of cease and desists.
To be honest, do you really think any added voice acting, if any is actually added, is going to be any good? Even if it is good, due to the amount of dialogue there probably won't be huge variety in voice actors, and it will just be the whole Oblivion and Skyrim problem of finding tons of people with the same voice. Not to mention that radiant AI is pretty flawed, and the only difference would be certain people would be in bed at certain times, which would make being a thief way easier than it was. Also, it doesn't really count as improving Skyrim if it comes packed with another mod. Not to mention the fact that most people who want to play Morrowind, don't really want to have to buy two games, they want to buy one game, Morrowind. In fact, most of the things this remake would do, could easily be done now. If I wanted to be a werewolf in Oblivion, there's a mod for that, if I want to remove the level scaling in Oblivion, there's a mod for that. If I want upgraded visuals in Morrowind or Oblivion, there are mods for that. If I want better combat in Morrowind, Skyrim, or Oblivion, there are mod's for that which I could just download now. This mod doesn't really add much that isn't already there.TheUnbeholden said:Not just overhauled combat, but radiant AI gives so much life to the game world. It also greatly improves Syrim, featuring Deadly Reflex so that you can do decipations and finishing moves, kicks ect... with new spells: Mark & Recall, Intervention (Divine/Almsivi), Levitation/Slowfall Spells and play all 3 games with your one character.
There will be other advantages like being able to play as your werewolf character in Oblivion..
and not having that crappy level scaling system, so that you can no longer take on every creature as a level 1 character, only merchants have leveled inventories.
It's not just about stunning visuals.
