Absolutely brilliant. The first three minutes I kept thinking I was seeing Slenderman and then BAM he came out of nowhere....I didn't last ten minutes.
Hahaha. Actually, for me, the first time I saw him he glitched inside the back of a truck and couldn't harm me. Being the first time I assumed it was intentional that he'd be peeking out of there, thinking it was like his warning shot. I recovered from the sudden jolt it gave me. Then I smiled, thinking something along the lines of: "Challenge accepted.", I turned and walked away for a few feet. I turned back.
BAM. That dreaded sound effect. He was next to the truck, this time, as if he'd stepped out of it. I spasmodically turned my camera away in fright and walked for my life seeing as jogging hadn't become instinct yet.
I've never screamed, though, but I have been pretty well creeped out in my early attempts, of which there were something like five or six, in one sitting. Headphones on. In the early hours of the morning. I've played the game loads since then (which was last night, in fact), and now the game is just some terrifying fun to me!

That's just cheap, juvenile scare tactics. Limiting vision and using darkness is hardly the making of true horror.
The ability to create an atmosphere in which a kitten's meow could make you shit bricks isn't impressive? The use of music and sound to create a tense feeling that instills a sense of dread in the player doesn't warrant some credit for an ability to evoke fear in an audience?
Bro, you don't just get scared when Slendy pops up 'round a corner, suddenly. You get scared when he's not there, too. On what might have been my fourth or fifth playthrough I was asking myself whether or not I should just hit escape and end things right there. "You know what...I don't need to go look for the fourth page, I think three is enough for now...and do I REALLY want to walk through those trees?"
And my reaction to this game was nothing compared to that of others. Some people totally flip out while I "just" jerked my mouse-arm, ducked slightly and turned my (physical)head towards the corner of the screen, then stared in shocked silence as I watched the death animation. Audio always scared me more than visuals...
