Slipknot is an example of true musical genious and anyone who says otherwise deserve to be slapped upside the head :)
Snuff, Vermillion, Psychosocial and Duality are among some of their best <3

Slipknot is the worst metal band I've heard......OW! I didn't think you would really slap me!

I like quite a bit of their stuff. Not the best, but quite enjoyable for me.

They ain't the best or the worst band of all time. They have some good songs granted but in the same token some ba ones.

Though I must add that after watching some live footage of the band they are deffinately one I would like to see live.

It's funny how people are saying it's bland and there not that talented, yet I listen to there music and think exactly the same.

Metallica, Iron maiden, black sabbath etc all boring and bland to me, of course they have some songs I think are decent, good maybe but overall I don't think there anything special.

This thread is just asking for a flame war.

On topic. I like them, most of there song have a great energy/feel about them and they make me feel better, after a long frustrating day I listen to SK and I feel more relaxed.

I love all of their albums. I can perfectly understand if someone doesn't like them though. Still I don't understand the people who say that the newest album is something you can hear on a pop channel. Same with "they won grammy's=sellout=mainstream=shit"-people. I you don't like a band then you don't like it.

I think they're the average vanilla of their genre. Like Nickelback with that soft rock, Linkin Park with the (alt?) rock, slipknot is the vanilla metal.

I love them. I'm going to see them this year at Sonisphere Festival, can barely wait.

Not my favorite band (I think that would be Iron Maiden/ Dream Theater) but they are awesome nonetheless and are close.

Slipknot and Rise Against are big and mainstream bands.
Are you in America?
'Cause RA certainly aren't mainstream over here.

EDIT: @ Assclown, can't you recognise sarcasm?
Perhaps it was a bit of a bad use of sarcasm, but I really don't care what people think of my music, and if anything I laugh at them for listening to talentless scrubs like Lady GaGa.
I'm in the U.S. and Rise Against and Fort Minor are both mainstream, that's not all bad though, listen to what you like, discover new music, and screw anyone else who doesn't like what you do. Slipknot is decent, the first two albums were their best though, Stone Sour is decent too, but their are so many great bands out there and this is a great forum to learn about them.

My brother loves them, but I personally don't like them that much. I am sorry their bassist died though.

Ok then, please explain to me what you consider musical genious?
Lady GaGa? JLS? Lil Wayne? What?
Hey, it's one thing to not agree with someone's musical opinion, but it is another to call them out like that.

I like them.

They were like... I dunno, "babies first metal band." Now I'm over that phase in my life and I only listened to two of their songs back when I was in that phase.

So Rise Against and Fort Minor are mainstream?
That's what you think until you get asked your favorite band, you say "Rise Against" and they say "Oh, Rage Against The Machine?" and it's like "No... Rise Against you twat!"
I'm 15 for your information, not looking to be flamed so fuck off if you're gonna start stuff.

I can't believe you just said I'm into mainstream... I'm offended!
Muse and Linkin Park are the only 'mainstream' bands I'm into.
The fact that you're offended by someone saying you're into mainstream music is kind of silly. Fort Minor and Rise Against are extremely mainstream. Fort Minor has Remember the Name on every single movie trailer for a movie that has to do with sports and as for Rise Against, come on! They were on Guitar Hero! That's pretty much the definition of mainstream. But you know what? So was Tool and they're still one of the greatest bands of all time.

Slipknot just seems like something that people listen to before they start listening to "real" music and they do so just to impress people by showing off how hardcore they are for listening to it. I dunno, I don't want to sound insulting, but there was a period in my life where I listened to them (it didn't last very long) and Children of Bodom and System of a Down... those kinds of bands. Now, I don't feel the need to impress anyone with how "hardcore" my music is because I know that it doesn't matter.

My opinion: they've got some stuff I like, some stuff I dislike.

And now, vague opinions behind us, here's what I personally think is one of the best songs of the band ever:

seriously, just sit back and let it flow through your mind.
