NEXT QUESTION

What now defunct company from California made a living by translating niche RPGs for NA and paved the way for deluxe editions?

This one I don't think you could get even IF you googled it. Still, no googling.
Without using Google, I'm going to say Working Designs. I may have the wrong name, but it was the company that localized the Lunar games.
Correct!

Working Designs was the company to patent the collector's edition by throwing in such gifts as stickers and CD's.

What video game character was inspired by a missing piece of pie?
If it's Pacman, it was a pizza btw, or do you mean pizza pie?

Hmm, this concept is a little off. I know a lot about gaming the same way I know a lot about film and theatre, but I don't know very much at all about the history of those two mediums.

These questions come off as a little misleading to me. Well, more than a little.

Segata Sanshiro: Not a marketing technique.

Working Designs: Didn't exactly pave the way for special editions. Nor did they have a patent to them.(Which means they had exclusive rights granted to them by the government to create special editions, which I suppose shouldn't count as it wasn't in the question..)

What video game character was inspired by a missing piece of pie?: I think this question is just intentionally misleading, calling pizza "pie", if the answer is pac-man, is kind of rare overall. >.> I mean yeah some people do just call it a pie, but if you go into a pie shop and order pepperoni, you're gonna get some odd looks..

Corrrrrrrect. And, yes it was pizza, just a play on words., didn't want to make it too easy.

You took the word patent way too literally. Piece of pie is a play on words. Segata Sanshiro was a commercial, thus a marketing ploy. He did not really exist as there was no man that dedicated to the Saturn. Now, if it were the Dreamcast, I'd believe those adverts to be documentaries.

A shot in the dark, but is it Madden? Considering that EA has been making Madden NFL games since, like, the Apple II, it wouldn't surprise me if the series was 50 games long, nor would it if the first game almost failed.
