hmm cant think of anything , myself BUT my mun is absolutely convinced one day i will wake up loving the Brussel sprout, as a kid every sunday lunch would roll around and there would be the one lone sprout that mum , bless her! insists on putting on my plate, along with 6 peas (no more no less) as a kid i couldn't eat any veg that wasn't a potato or fruit except raspberries and strawberries, just hated them all. yes this includes both tomatoes and onions , which was frankly a massive PITA!

about 20 years ago my tastes changed and i started to like nearly all fruit and veg , except the brussel , but because im eating the peas it gives mum hope ill come around to the sprout, and im like "yes mum i did change and started liking peas, 20 fucking years ago! give it up already!"

Thankfully i have taken over most family cooking duties these days inc the family christmas so i largely manage to avoid it but if i dont guard my plate she will sneak one on to this day ;)
I feel for you my friend. I still get a Brussel sprout on my plate at every Christmas and every time express my anger and desire not to eat that damn oversized pea.

You might redeem yourself if you profess your eternal hatred for the French! XD
Leading me into my thing, I want to like hating the French, I'm British, I have to but as much as I try I can't. I think it's got something to do with the only 2 French people I know being very nice, kind and extremely attractive. It pisses me off.

Peanut butter tastes, looks and smells like shit. So you're fine there.

Not that it matters, because your disregard for tea requires you be buried alive.

I detest the taste of coffee. My mom used to use a little in some cookies, and those ones I always hated with a passion. It wasn't till I got older that I figured out why. I don't get how the hell it's so popular. I have worked at coffee shops, and it baffles me that people love that crap. It smells nice when it brews, but damn is it nasty...

As far as food and drink goes I'm fine, but the thing I just don't get along with is *checks over shoulder for SmashLovesTitanQuest* Breaking Bad. It's not that I don't like it, I enjoy it when I watch it, but I just don't really feel any urge to watch. I don't feel at all compelled or intrigued to continue watching, eventually after a few months I'll watch another few episodes out of not having anything better to do, but it's not something I can just keep watching.
I agree with this. Everyone I know tells me its really good and that it is something I should enjoy, but I just can't get into it, though not for lack of trying. I also don't like The Office, I just don't find it funny, and I just don't like Ricky Gervais that much either.

Pizza.
By god it smells amazing (sometimes), but I don't like tomatoes, or cheese. I've tried it countless times, but to no avail.

Oh, and butter. I hate butter. And the taste of milk. I don't mind it if it's well covered up, however. Seeing a pattern here? I had to take soy milk as a baby. Regular stuff gave me stomach upset.

Considering how oily and fatty peanut butter is I can't blame anyone for not liking it.
I once ate two jars of peanut butter in under 45 minutes, felt like I was coated in grease. Didn't regret it.

OT: I don't like ketchup, the taste, the smell, the sound it make coming out of the bottle, all that disgusts me.

I tried to like Adventure Time, I really did. All of my friends say it is great and what not but I just can't get into it, I just can't. Not sure why but I just don't like it. Maybe I didn't see the humor in it or whatever?

If the internet has taught me anything, it's that I should hate you for not liking what I like.

But I can't. Peanut butter is okay, but nothing to start a war over.

Now, honey on the other hand....

Gervais seems like a relatively decent person. So charming to the point I feel bad for not finding a single thing he does funny. My hunch is that most people see that charm and are guilted into pretending to like him, rather than people actually find him funny.

Well i really don;t like stuff like salads, or any of that so called "healthy" green stuff.

You will get the weirdest looks if you order a burger without salad/tomatoes and the likes.

But still, i aint a goddamn rabbit.

Also my favorite counter argument to people being flabbergasted that i don;t eat salad is;
If someone would come up to you now and say he doesn't eat meat because he is a vegetarian, would you respect that and give him something else to eat?

99,99% of the time they say yes.

So whats the difference between that and this? besides the color?

And then they just stand their all quietly.

Right before I saw this thread I sat down with a jar of peanut butter and was just eating it plain I love it that much. If you don't like such a wonderful and delicious food I think they're may be something wrong with you...
Gonna kinda have to agree. :[] I have a nasty habit of doing that, regardless that I'm not the only one who's using the peanut butter. u,u Although I rather enjoy mixing in some honey, that's pretty delicious, too. Maple syrup can be used as a sub if you don't have honey. Either way, I tend to outright eat peanut butter by itself, more than I do with anything else.

This, I also have to agree with. Except for the whole looking for a drink I like, bit, however. My friends constantly tried to get me to try different drinks. I hated every one of them(even the girly drinks, sadly).

My actual answer to the thread is the same as tippy's, alcohol. Can't stand the stuff. It tastes awful and in all the drinks they've had me try, I can never get used to that burning sensation in your throat. Try mixed drinks, they said. You can't taste the alcohol, they said. Load o' crock.

As a side note, I will never be able to comprehend the point behind an alcoholic drink where you can't tell it's alcoholic. To me, that just kinda defeats the purpose of an alcoholic drink. Unless it's purely so you can somehow get drunk without having to taste the alcohol. Which is equally stupid, far as I'm concerned.

Peanut butter is nasty. I hate everything to do with it. I am also highly allergic to it so that may explain my feelings towards the food.

Peanut butter is an American thing, probably developed during George Washington Carver's efforts to develop uses for peanuts in the 1800s (most patents seem to emerge after Carver), though I think nut-butter was developed independently in the Netherlands. It's not a great stretch to take a nut, seed or grain and grind it into paste.

But just because a thing is well liked doesn't mean you have to like it. In Australia, Vegemite is all the rage, yet we here in the states can't grok what the fuss is at all.

I have the opposite problem of tippy2k2. I love margaritas and mudslides and even a good gin-&-tonic, but one drink will make me dopey, and two (or one real [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No_true_Scotsman] mixed drink) will plumb knock me out.

Headdrivehardscrew Communism is a sophisticated taste, and soviets (note lower case) never figured out how to make good communism. You need some really good statesmen to whip you up a sampling.

I know, I know, It's blasphemous but no matter how hard I try to like it I just can't. I just don't like it, but what frustrates me more is why. I like sweet stuff, I like peanuts and I love sandwiches so why the hell don't I like it? I also dislike tea. It tastes awful. I am British. I AM SORRY BRITAIN. I AM SORRY BRITISH ESCAPISTS I HAVE FAILED YOU.

So guys, what is that thing you want to like, try to like but for the love of something, just can't seem to like. You try a few years later and think It would be nice to try again and you still hate it. It can be anything so go for It.
While I cannot stand peanut butter, I do love me a good cuppa tea. Don't worry too much about not liking tea though - James Bond loathed it and he's about as British as you can get!
