I watched the first episode and my reaction was "huh that wasn't too bad but I don't see me watching any more" (3 hours later) "OMG PONIES!!!!!!!!!1!!!!ONE!!"

Finding something weird despite having enjoyed it is apparently a good enough basis on which to refrain from being a fan of it now. Not sure when that started, but it's... okay no, sorry, that's stupid. If it got some chuckles out of you, why would you purposefully refrain from giving it any more chance just because you find it weird that mature adults like it? I can't believe some people let prejudgements affect them on this level...
Look, the show is well-written, well-animated and very funny, especially once you know the characters and fully understand the humor. Thanks for not talking about how terribly stupid we all are for liking it, but it's not much better to be judging the show based on ignorant stereotypes even after having seen it. Sorry if I'm sounding intense about it, but it sound like you're denying yourself just because of stereotypes with no real basing.
OT: First few episodes were entertaining. Interesting enough that I kept watching them. I mean, freaking Fluttershy. Most adorable thing ever in the history of existence. I enjoyed it well enough until the fifth episode (Griffon the Brush-Off), which totally surprised me in terms of its lack of cliche kids show structure. I thought the main lesson of the episode was three different things throughout the course of that episode, and it ended up presenting a major moral of the story along with a few other minor ones in one of the best examples of good episodic kid's show writing I've ever seen. After that it just got better and better.
EDIT: For the record, 22-year old male. And I wasn't exactly going, "YEAH, FRICKING PONIES!" when I started watching this. It was more like, "What the... seriously...? Well, I'm curious... but this can't possibly be any good." Don't make the mistake of thinking that most bronies started this show thinking it would be amazing. It just turned out to be.

I watched it, it's mix of slapstick humor and witty writing along with incredible animation just got me hooked. Show always makes me laugh.
I haven't seen it, but then I don't have TV. [Internets are much more fun and I can't afford both.] I do like the ponies though, specifically the original toys. I still had some from when I was a kid. And I like that people are taking the old ones that have suffered from severe haircuts or been drawn on and making artwork out of them.
During the few months that there was a glut of abused ponies on Ebay I snatched up a lot of them and got to work.

Each one took me days to do, several of them I even removed the original hair and replaced each hair plug with a new one in a different color. Same with the tails. The details were done primarily with plumbers putty and all are hand painted.
My next project pony will be Bobobo-bobo-bobobo. :]

i can honestly said that i am not a brony but it is a show that i can watch and is a massive guilty pleasure. its a show you watch when no one is around and you flip the channel when someone walks into the room. something that i like but im not proud of it. lol like it if you please but no one is asking you to be a brony and i am not one myself. i think being a furry is enough to get me odd looks i don't need brony on that too.
Cause we have our own group in which to discuss this sort of thing, we know everyone hates seeing pony threads out the wazoo so we just don't post any to maintain order on the escapist.bluepotatosack said:

There are people going around these forums, complaining about the Pony-avatars and how the Bronies start Threads and "try to force" this show on them while people like you, callmegreen, open Threads like "I watched MLP and didn't think it WAS that great", "Can someone explain this MLP-Hype to me?", "What's with these Pony-avatars?", "Why do grown men enjoy My Little Pony so much?" etc. Yeah, you didn't like it! Wonderful! Great! You can't grasp why people enjoy it so much? Well, maybe...because they just have a different taste than you! Do you like Coca Cola? Do you? I don't. Do you see me opening threads telling people "I tried Coke, didn't like and I seriously find it disgusting how people can enjoy this sugary brown stuff"? NO! Because. It. Is. Not. Important! There are people who like watching a cartoon about Ponies, because they like the humor/animation/voice work/writing/whatever, even though you don't! And there are people who set scenes and characters from that show as their avatars because of that, just like YOU set scenes and characters from that anime/game/movie/series/whatever YOU like as YOUR avatar. AND OPENING A BAJILLION THREADS ABOUT HOW YOU DON'T LIKE THE SHOW WON'T CHANGE THE FACT THAT THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO DO!
