Depends on what you're looking for, as has been stated already. Give Portal 2 a try, I can personally vouch for it being a good game plus you'll have a cubic buttload of people to play co-op with, what with the Steam-PSN cross network and all. Also, it's on PS3 so will look fairly good.

i just got infamous 2 yesterday both one and two are some of my favorite PS3 games lots of fun to be had.

Also, the Killzone series is worth a look. I don't have a PS3, but I have been considering it for a long time. Killzone 1-3 are some of the games I have considered buying.

Ico/Shadow of the Colossus HD collection when it comes out later this year.
That's about it for must-have PS3 exclusive games. So go onto the Playstation Store and get classics like:
Final Fantasy VII, VIII, and IX
Vagrant Story
Crash Bandicoot 1, 2, 3, and Crash Team Racing
Spyro the Dragon 1, 2, and 3
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (seriously, if you haven't played this game, GO NOW)
And yeah, Black Ops was... passable. Mediocre. An entertaining-enough shooter where lazy design overshadowed the solid mechanics. And without good design, solid mechanics just aren't enough.

MGS4. A fun idea, which I thought of, (which I really need to do soon) is to invite some friends over, and beat MGS4, in at most one weekend. And no skipping cutscenes (there's about eight hours of them). And on the hardest difficulty. New Vegas is fantastic, and LBP is amazing with friends. Borderlands is also really good..

Two words and I only saw two guys posted it so it must be reinforced!
Demon's Soul's. It's relentlessly difficult and a HELL of a great game.
Zero hand holding. The intro tells you all you need to know about the story, and the game leaves it there. Everything else you find out on your own. Not to mention some of the best online i've ever seen, not to mention probably one of the best games on PS3. If you like RPG's, you should definitely get it.
Almost everything else has been listed. So... uh.... yeah. Good hunting for a new game!
OH! Before I forget, Nier was actually a decent game that I liked quite a bit. Can't remember how many hours I put in, but it was definitely more than 4, and I enjoyed it thoroughly. May not be worth buying, but I think its worth at least renting.

Unfortunately, the PS3 version is a rushed console port. You're better off getting the PC version of the Orange Box, which actually works and has plenty of free updates.ciancon said:

Exclusives I would recommend are inFamous and Uncharted 2. Killzone 3 seems pretty good from the demo.
