Demon's Souls is great but by no means should you get it as your second game. That's a game for seasoned gamers.
You don't, Orange Box (PS3) is shit.Jimmy T. Malice said:(Hopes he doesn't sound like a PC elitist)

That's a pretty wide range of good games, look into any of them further to see if you'd like them or not.
Some game series you might enjoy:Mcmuffin said:So it is my birthday today and i bought a ps3, it came with Call of Duty Black ops which lasted me all of 4 hours, now im bored and want a new game, what are your suggestions escapist?
You're probably thinking of a different game, because Demon's Souls does give a tutorial. It covers pretty much every aspect of combat, although I really didn't know how equipment burden affected my character at first (keep it below 50% unless you're sure you know what you're doing).Katana314 said:I am in the same boat as the OP; I got mine as a graduation gift. However, I'll note that most new PS3 systems (the cheaper ones than the launch version) are not backwards compatible. I think they can play PS1 games, but not PS2.
I currently have LA Noire, MGS4, God of War 1+2 collection, and Red Dead Redemption.
I'm considering...
Demon's Souls (though I'm not sure what I think of a game that doesn't give tutorials; sounds mostly frustrating, not fun)
Uncharted 2 (I sort of wonder if I'll only play it for its SP and not again)
Resistance 2 (just to have one solid splitscreen shooter on the PS3)
Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction OR A Clank in Time (I don't know which is better)
Heavy Rain (If only for morality reasons; I watched a full playthrough online, I know who the origami killer is, and now I don't really know what enjoyment I'd get from it, but I feel I owe the devs money. The playthrough even showed a number of alternate versions of events)
I don't easily shell out a lot of money for a game unless I have already played it, so I'm mostly buying the many reduced-price PS3 classics that I had been missing out on while I was a PC gamer, and leaving the $59.99 purchases to the fanboys.
I also need more games that can be played with two controllers in splitscreen. Any ideas?
I'm only saying what I heard about Demon's Souls, which may have been off.mireko said:You're probably thinking of a different game, because Demon's Souls does give a tutorial. Unfortunately, one part that remains unexplained is the upgrade/crafting system. For that you'll need the wiki. Still, I would definitely recommend it. It's an amazing game once you get into it, one of the best action-RPGs I've ever played.
Anyway, I'm pretty sure Resident Evil 5 allows for multiplayer splitscreen gameplay, as does Wipeout HD on the PSN store. RE5 also lets you play the entire main game in local co-op with splitscreen, which is cool.
