As much as I love Platinum, I'll be playing it a while after release (mostly because I'm slowly paying off the limited edition).

Too much of a shark jump for the MGS universe for me, plus I don't think we really need anymore DMC/GoW games.

Hey, this looks pretty fricking sweet. Might have to give this a look if it's coming out on PC, which I doubt...

Will probably get it at some point purely because its an action game that Platinum games are behind I lost interest in Metal Gear after being disappointed with 2 and 3 but with the original DMC and Bayonetta Platinum have made two of my all time favourite action games I am hoping this will be good as well.

Wont get it on release though money and time is to tight at the moment.

Oh and im aware they werent platinum games yet when they made the original DMC and as with all companies the people inside change from time to time.

How would guns be better against a cyborg ninja that can deflect bullets? Not to mention if the cybernetic enhancements pack the power of a jackhammer into every limb I think a baton would be more powerful than a gun.

I'm hoping against hope that they will try to get this ported to the PC. I am really interested into playing this game, especially giving the acclaim Platinum Games have received as developers after making Bayonetta (which I haven't played either).

Just watched the trailer again and holy shit that was stupid.

"Hey I can cut a car in half with a single stroke, but I have to slash this mook 15 times to cut him in half."

Or the police..

Yea that is pretty dumb. But I guess the conceit is that cyborgs can just dodge small arms. Raiden is able to block bullets during his ninja run. As far as the whole cutting thing you can cut the mooks at any time in one hit but you have to use blade mode which requires meter. In the demo I cut the legs right out from under one of the mooks in the first encounter. I'm glad you brought that up because I hadn't thought to use blade mode right at the outset to get rid of mooks.

I think you shouldn't get hyped about a piece of marketing material that could make even the shiniest pieces of poop look good.

Just look at Aliens: Colonial Marines and that big old drama surrounding it. Wait for the actual game to come out and decide for yourself with all the facts. Don't buy into hype made by people who could care less about the quality of the game.

I'm angry at it for not being ground zeroes...I saw it on the coming release line up and got super excited until I remembered it was the wrong one.

I'm probably not going to play it honestly. I really like stealth games, but few hack and slashers have ever really stuck out for me.

Have you seen the early walkthroughs of this game? They're amazing!

After playing the demo, I preordered it straight away.

It's good honest dumb fun. My impression while playing it was that that the game knows that too and doesn't take itself too seriously.

The soundtrack is awesome too.

Guess my point still eludes some people. Again wait till the final product and you will know 100% whether its worth the money or not

Don't worry that's my plan, ever since Aliens I'm being a little more cautious about these things, I played the demo (it was brilliant), but I will be holding off for at least two weeks for two reasons, 1. Wait until the reviews come out and see how it does, 2. If it's good, might as well get it the same day Game of Thrones Season 2 on DVD comes out, just to make my day even better

You can more or less one shot regular mooks in Blade Mode. Also, they are cyborgs.

for the past two years I was very wary and sceptical of the game since I thought the direction they were taking it in was rather bizarre but after playing the demo all that worry went away and it turned into anticipation.

I'm grabbing it this week while my roomie gets dibs on the skin deals that come with it (doesn't bother me at all since I only want the Grey Fox skin).

That and the demo to me plays a lot better than DmC and will probably make up for the shit that was Aliens Colonial Marines.

The whole MGS art direction and the codec talk puts me off a bit. I like the gameplay but the theme is not my case. Playing a badass cyborg in high heels is something you don`t see everday for sure. Maybe later.

Platinum Games is great but i wish this would be in a medieval japanese setting with samurais and ninjas.

I'm not gonna be able to get Revengence for a while with my budget, so a playthrough on youtube had to do it for me. Awesome soundtrack with crazy over the top violence and some funny one off characters. It's better than I thought it would be. I'll definitely try to get it when I can to play it myself.

Really don't like the look of this game. I know Hideo wanted to pass his legacy "on to a younger generation", they obviously don't understand that Metal gear was about more than mecha and cut-scenes. Spin-offs like this very rarely work.
