As a 360 owner, I think you guys are being ripped off. While it's great that you're getting ME2 as it's got solid gameplay and is very fun alone, you will not be getting ME1 because Microsoft owns it. And that means your ME1 decisions will be made by default, which means they're bad.
One of the most well liked squadmates from the first game, Urdnot Wrex, was killed by you. If that didn't happen, he would have been leader of the Krogan you meet on Tuchanka.
The Galactic Council is dead, replaced entirely by humans who don't give a shit about you or hate you.
You're a virgin!
And BioWare said somewhere that in ME3, seeing as it's the last one, the story will branch and twist more based on all of your decisions in both prior games. So you have no control over what choices you made in ME1, they were made for you.
Oh well. Maybe the extra content is a "Save Tailor" or something so you CAN make those choices. Or better yet, the more important parts of the first game in playable form.
I'm not actually that excited about it, to be honest. I played it on my friend's 360 and though that it was just meh. It probably wasn't helped by the fact that he gushed about it like it had descended from mount olympus. So no, I'm not excited because it was/is overhyped.
there's a thread going on right now that talks about reasons people give to not play games that make you want to punch them in the face. Im going to add this to that list.
OT: I'm glad to see the lines between consoles slowly disappearing. It truly warms my heart. All i want now is to be able to have cross platform multiplayer
I have very little desire to go out and buy this anyway. I played Mass Effect 1 for about an hour, got bored stupid and turned it off. If number 2 is anything like it then count me out.
I am looking forward to playing it yes. I don't really like playing games on the computer and won't be getting an xbox anytime soon. The fact that there is some bonus content designed to introduce the series was a deciding factor and I will probably wait to get more info on that before I get it, which will be at most more of a delay than anything. It's not some sort of gift from the gaming gods though, just something I am pretty certain I will enjoy.
To be honest, this doesn't really matter to me. I already played both games on the Xbox 360 and had a blast. I'm glad that PS3 gamers get to experience this awesome game. However, I'm sure a lot of "X-Bots" shat brix when they heard this news. =\
