I disagree about Maya because asexuals exist in the world too and if they can kill jokes about Janey Springs being gay then they can have the public deal with the fact that ONE character can be a strong female and legitimately not be interested in ANYONE, even the one guy who's trying so hard to change for her. I DID, however, love the HELL out of both Jack and his Doppelganger. Maybe it's that I like Dameon Clarke's performance but I think the game really did shine in that aspect even if the rest of it was... good. I won't call it mediocre (jeez, people in this thread are really downers) but I agree that it wasn't AS good as BL 2.

As for Jack and his doppleganger, I never beat The Pre-Sequel, so I never really started a new character with the Doppleganger, which I did purchase, but I did like Jack in the game, although I liked him a little less because he wasn't kinda off like he was in BL2.

That was the start of his hatred, and then, in the end of the game, when Lilith punched the Vault Symbol into Jack's face, that was the catalyst that made him go insane, thus making his entire descent into madness an outside force, changing it from a fall to a push off of the deep end. And then, when Lilith disregards her involvement in Jack's insanity and orders Athena executed, that's when I knew that she was no longer a good character. Thus, my now dislike of Lilith.

Just seems a bit pretentious to me. I guess I never noticed 'til after I finished but Jack wasn't really that violent towards companions. It was bizarre (and kind of touching) when he legitimately asks the PC if they're okay and he apologizes for being a dick for a second there.

I think I'm too far gone; I still don't like Jack less, this whole conversation just makes me dislike the other characters more. IT DIDN'T WORK

Tried revisiting BL2 since I liked it and I found myself wondering how I ever enjoyed the game. If they want to sell me another one get some writters that can write comedy not spew dated memes out of their asses, drastically overhaul the gameplay mechanics, and murder Tiny Tina. Not in any particular order.

This mirrors my thoughts, except that I never really found myself enjoying Borderlands 2. I never even finished the game.

I recall being on some mission wherein I was supposed to pointlessly gun down animals while some one-armed goon tried to name them. (because, you know, I clearly have to KILL them for this fucker to think of names) I was barely with the game up to this point, but I was still willing to give it the benefit of the doubt. I'd mildly enjoyed the first game and I kept thinking, "Maybe the writing gets better? Gods I hope it gets better."

But, that mission was my breaking point. Specifically: it was the moment the guy, in a bit of frustration, decided to name the current crop of critters I was murdering "boner-farts".

I closed the game and haven't run it since. I can tolerate a bit of juvenile humor, but when it's excessively juvenile, and poorly written, AND the only humor present, it's like nails on a chalk board to me.

Couple this with my general disgust for Gearbox and 2K nowadays and I honestly can't find it in me to give a single shit for a new Borderlands game.

Hell yeah, I'll give it a go. What's not to like about a new Borderlands? Dunno why there are so many haters. It's a series with more loot than you can comprehend. It's a series in which you regularly fight midgets riding alien wildlife. It's a series in which you get unhinged lunatics rushing at you with crudely made axes quoting Shakespeare. It's a series unashamedly devoted to being fun. ENGORGE! That's gaming right there.

Besides, I'm still waiting for them to bring out the next bit of DLC for Pre-sequal cause otherwise both my friends and myself are bored with it at the moment. Although I still have stuff that I want/need to do in the first two games, but again it gets really boring when you don't have someone playing with you.

The stupid Holodome thing (that I refuse to buy) and the Doppelganger were both Season Pass items, so the running theory is that the other two will be Aurelia and one story DLC. Which is hugely disappointing, because in BL2 we got four DLC campaigns (including Dragon Keep, which was amazing), two characters, two UVHM packs (with pearlescent uber-rare weapons) and the five Headhunter pack mini-DLCs that I'm not paying $4 each for. TPS doesn't even have pearlescents yet, and I feel like Aurelia is going to be pointless, since Nisha can already do sniping and ridiculous DPS at the same time.

Since ive adopted a policy of never believing pre-release articles (something i must admit that Gearbox is partially responsible for) i doubt ill be swayed much until i actually get my hands on the game, if i even decide its worth buying at any point.

That said, enjoyed BL1 to some degree, enjoyed BL2 much more and enjoyed TPS to a certain degree. Ive no reason to suspect that this new entry wont be any different unless Gearbox is going for a genre shift.

Because they've made millions of dollars on borderlands. Seriously, BL2 is their best-selling game to date; hell, it was even ported to PS Vita, and you know a game sells well when they have the guts to put it out on Vita.

It's a popcorn game, it's not very good, maybe even stale but you'll just keep eating because it's something.

I played a bit of the Pre-Sequel which was a considerable upgrade, but I have no one to play it with consistently which makes me lose interest.
