Sometimes i wonder if the westboro baptist church are actually secretly anti christian. They do everything in their power to make us look like douchebags.

In person I tend to be really good at "put on the spot" debate.

But rational arguments don't work on religious people, and least of all on missionaries who want to spread their beliefs, uncaring of other people.

Arguing with them is arguing with a brick wall; say what you will, it's not going to listen or do anything different and only breaking it down yourself will make it go away.

How is that differant from them trying to argue in favour of their faith to you? Do you just roles your eyes and close you mind to what they are trying to say? Preaching to an athiest is preaching to a brick wall.

Also, missionaries do care or are all those missionary clinics and schools just for decoration?

I personally never understood some of the religious arguments against gays.

What gets me is that if they are getting all 'in a huff' about the legal rights of gays to marry (legal marriage, not religious marriage), then why aren't they protesting marriage in non-christian religions? I mean, if apparently all marriages have to be considered in terms of Christianity, then surely marriage within any religion but their own is worshipping a false idol (whether that be through a misinterpretation of God or because they believe in a different deity altogether).

Then again, they don't do it out of logic, they do it to make money, so asking them to t least have some theological consistency is a bit much.

I'm a Christian and I'm sickened by this. The Bible clearly states that God loves everyone equally, so I don't see how they - in good conscience - can say that.

I personally never understood some of the religious arguments against gays. The one that confuses me the most is that they're "An abomination of God". Well here's how my brain works, God is supposed to be infallible, and we are created in his image. If gays are an abomination, that means that either a) Homo sexuality is one of many characteristics of god as we are created in his image or b) God is indeed fallible and "made a mistake".

It's 3 am, haven't slept in 24 hours, and I can't think of anything more. I bet someone has a better explanation than me.

On another note, although I live in Canada, I'd like to go up against one of these people and give them a verbal beat down. In person I tend to be really good at "put on the spot" debate.

got isn't against gay although there is a passage that states that it is unnatural i would say that he shouldnt have put the damn good/evil tree in eden in the first place and then gave us free choice come on

best video ever. i used to do similar things to jahovas witness folks that would come round with their booklets. cause any time i've been apporached by one they ask if i've found god, of course not like oh there he is, but i would make this insane look and run behind my house yelling "NOOOOOO I HAVE NOT!!! LETS GO LOOK FOR HIM!" several seconds later "NOPE! NOT HERE!" and so on until they left
